CPS 1000 won't fire, any help appreciated ! - Please help !
Hey guys,
I'm not too sure if I've posted this before but oh well.
I was getting rid of all my Nerf guns when I found my CPS 1000(It's the only CPS gun I have). When I pumped it, I could hear the air escaping so I'm guessing a valve is stuck open or something. The problem is, the big orange cover on the barrel is glued on, and its so old and brittle, when I try to pry it off, I fear it will snap. Any suggestions about how to dissolve the glue or whatever are much appreciated.
I just really really really want it to fire again.

First make sure you need to take it off in order to open the gun - sounds like you already have though. Also, have you tried unscrewing it? I'm sure people with CPS 1000s might have some advice.
When you have the water gun open, fill it with water and pump. If there's a leak, you'll see a thin stream of water coming from somewhere. Epoxy the hole up.

My nozzle cap simply snaps off. Just keep pulling and prying at it and it should come off fairly easily. (However, mine doesn't unscrew) Unfortunately, some mk's of the 1000 have nozzle caps that are glued, but see if yours isn't first. If it is, you'll probably have to use brute force to get the thing apart. Use a flathead screwdriver for prying in most cases.
I'm assuming it's a trigger problem right now. To take care of this, stretch some rubber bands so it keeps the pin down (the pin near the nozzle), but make sure they don't get in the way of anything else. If you need more, use more or stronger, larger bands. When you're done, quickly put it together and do some testing. Make sure you can comfortably and easily do rapid tap shots with it.

The only thing glued on the FF is the pump cap. Both nozzle caps are secured by 2 seperate pieces that are screwed together, and those screws must be taken off. (unless one happens to open up just enough to get the whole piece out, but it's very hard to do.)rbertaut44 wrote:The front part might be glued, I know it is on the flash fload.
Anyways, like I said, my 1000's cap snaps off easily, but that may just be because of it's version. (different versions might have the cap glued on) Just pull on it and try it around.
