CVF Problems? - Max D 6000 wasted?
I just finished CVFing my Max D 6000, so I was eager to try it now, in hope of having "the air pressure CPS2000". When the glue finally dried I put the gun back together (though the pump cap didn't go all the way in), and tested it. Pumping is now so easy that I can pump this thing 50 times in less than a minute! But no matter how much I pump it, I'll get the same range that I'd get if I pumped it 10 times, half the range of the stock gun. Also the pressure gauge doesn't work. Did I just waste a perfectly fine MaxD6000, or is it still possible to fix?
Sounds like your soaker isn't holding pressure properly. You should check all the connections for leaks. If the pressure gauge isn't working and it used to work fine, something is definitely odd. Doing a CVF shouldn't have made the gauge non-functional.

I re-opened my MD6000, and strangely, I didn't see any leaks, nothing seemed wrong! So I put it back together, and though it's a little bit more powerful than it was at first, a stock MD6k would beat it by ALOT ??? The pressure gauge still doesn't work and pumping is still too easy. Should I re-open it? I don't get the problem.
Did you test for leaks using the good ol' soapy-water trick? It really seems like something, somewhere is releasing pressure if a stock MD6K performs better than a CVF'd MD6K.

I just attempted an XPS mod as well. I know I need to put on more balloons (than 3 in place of each PC), but the ballons I got are quite thick, and are female doggies to layer when I'm going past 3 balloons.
Range didn't seem to change when I tested it, though the balloons are definately doing their job, the stream is very constant. The thing I like now, is that if the balloons aren't emptying out all their water, I can just squeeze it all out
How many more balloons should I attempt to add on (they are 12" balloons)?
