cause i JUST bought an xp-310 new from sports authority and i looked at the shotgun mod article at sscentral.
to me it seems to go like this:
-unscrew little screw
-take out bottom part
-put back on

is it possible to put the bottom part back on and just screw it back on?

Haven't tried it, personally, but from the pics, it should be possible to re-attach the nozzle-selector with or without the external housing. However, pics aren't quite clear enough for me to be 100% sure and I don't personally plan on popping my XP310's nozzle cap to verify.

I think that article is one of Doom's earlier mod thoughts since I believe he could/would be a lot more creative with a nozzle mod now.

It's not permanent, I know because my friend removed and replaced it to camo paint his.

Good to know!

I figure, if you want to do a better mod (but a permanent one), I'd pick one of the middle-sized nozzle plug parts and just carefully break it off, then re-attach the rest so you can still have different-sized nozzles plus one shot-gun blast.

You can't break your gun by removing the nozzle selector. I've done it many times, and unless you lose the pieces, it's totally harmless.
