Well, actually, not quite the heart. More like the liver and spleen... err.. the heart (the twin CPS chambers) is quite tricky to access. Since I was just poking around, I opted for a working MXL over me forcing my way into the CPS chambers and potentially wrecking the working blaster.

Hmmm.... I'd say the lungs and most of the circulatory system.

While we're on the subject of the Monster XL, does anyone else have the problem that when you use the QFD with it, it fills the PCs fine, but when you try to keep going it makes a horrible screeching noise? I have always been concerned by this, but a while back I decided to keep going anyway, and it ended up sending a huge crack through the PC casing. I've learned not to do that anymore, and I only ever fill the PC with the QFD. Is this a common problem?

I think that MXL PCs overpressurizing is a common problem. I've heard of several cases of that happening, even so much that the PC cracked completely. I couldn't find any topics in my quick searchs, so I don't have anything to reference. All you can do is prevent it from happening, don't overpressurize your MXL.

I managed to pop parts of my MXL's PC casing during a quick-fill. Seems like the over-pressure valve that's supposed to let the water enter the reservoir after the PCs are filled doesn't open large enough (hence the horrid screeching noise) to compensate for the water pressure provided by some hoses. From my experience, if you're in a crunch, you can still opt to use the quick-fill, but only for the PCs. Keep an eye on the width of your soaker and if you see any change of the MXL's body size or start hearing the screeching noise, stop filling and fill the reservoir through the cap.
Once upon a time, I remember posting these findings on one of the online forums which have now been lost...

The p/cs aren't that hard to get into, you just need a few weeks, some small/mid-sized screwdrivers, brute strength, and a lot of patience.
I opened both p/cs on an XL, collosussed them, put them back, re-opened them, took the collosus off, and put them back a second time. Took me a long time.

If I was planning on modding my MXL, I'd go for it, but since I was only after pics and wanted a happy working MXL, I opted out.
