Being rated for 85psi and holding 85psi are 2 different things. Most powerful soakers are around...45 psi right? I think LRT may be a very good option, just make sure you have some way of checking how far it expands. That will make up for any differences in how fast the 2 PCs fill. Plus, I just feel it's a lot safer.

i'm probably going to put some sort of pressure safety valve, and a pressure meter/guage, too. It's probably goin to be ~45-70psi. I'm still straightfoward for the 1200-1300mL PC volume. And for the "SCIENCE :D" :goofy: i'll buy a foot or 2 of the 85psi kind to see how far and fast it blasts at 5x.

EDIT: the cps 2000 MK 1 is 45psi, superCPS is ~50, and SuperCannon 2 is 100psi at the full "safe" pressure.

I expect CX(Captain Xerxes(wow, an abbreviation for an acronym, huh? :goofy: )) to blast 50 to 60 feet with a ~7ish second 5x burst, 10 second 3x, 8 second shower, and ~12-15 second 1x.
Though this might be completely off.

Is LRT really the only option out there when it comes to homemade cylindrical cps chambers? After hearing that it has durability issues, I'd like to know if there are better alternatives out there. In particular, why hasn't anyone found any rubber to use? Larami/Hasbro gets it from somewhere. Also, what about using other similar chambers designed for air, like one from a nerf Magstrike? Damn. I have seen a few Magstrikes recently for cheap, had I known, I might have picked one up to experiment on. It should perform similarily.

There are lots of companies that sell LRT, but as far as I know, only McMaster-Carr sells it in varying sizes and not in bulk. The others either cost too much (because they're selling huge amounts), have too small a tubing diameter for our purposes, or too thin a wall for our purposes. That's as far as I know, if anyone actually finds another company, please let us know.

Depends on how efficient the rest of the blaster is. The sharp bends will hinder performance to some extent, but the ball valve should make up for that. 45-55ft would be a reasonable guess assuming the PRV doesn't open early (which is fixable), and there isn't anything else which could hinder the performance.

As for pressure, if the internals can't cope, then you may run into some trouble. That goes for physical strength and flow, as high pressures can result in odd non-coherent streams if the internals can't cope with increased flow (too many/too severe bends can cause this).

should i reinforce it just in case???

EDIT: this strip of LRT should be no more than 55psi if i can't do anything to help pressure, i'm guesstimating.

Hey Andrew, what do mean by sharp bends? If you're talking about the PC, it would just be a strip of LRT, not a Convex Supercalifrajilisticexpialadocious Hexagon Shaped Strip of Hybrid LRT PVC CPVC that makes pizza in three seconds. :crazydance:

It wouldn't do any harm, and would help prevent any problems in the future but, as long as your new PC's don't open the PRV, there shouldn't be a problem. If you remove or modify the PRV, then it would definitely be advisable.

Hmmm...
I would probably "improve" the PRV to help with the new PCs. Then i'll reinforce it. It sounds like alot, but it's a makeover! :D
