question re ss50 - collectors edition

It does definitely have some value for collectors (like me). I would strongly advise you to not open the gun, as it's battle practicality relative to soakers newer than it, and even modern soakers, is low. It is definitely not worth opening.
My budget is pretty tight right now, however if you are still considering selling it in the beginning or middle of September, there's a pretty good chance that I'd like to purchase it from you. No guarantees, but feel free to shoot me a message anytime around then if you still have it.
I have no idea about the going rate, I'd just go by what XP270 said, however I really am unsure. It'd probably be best to feel around and see what everyone else here thinks. You've definitely come to the right place though, good luck.

As others have noted, it has some value, but presently, not likely much more than its original retail value (~$20-$30USD). However, as time goes on, its value will likely increase, though not in the same way particularly sought-after soakers like the original CPS2000 sells for.
