I'd consider it if it was just a bit less, but even then I'm still adverse to buying stock blasters now after some recent workshop nightmares. (No, I didn't get hurt or anything, just have to deal with really annoying problems that require very drastic measures to repair.) The 1-3-5 is nothing great stock (looks to be at average XP/BBT performance level if I'm correct), but should be effective once modded. (K-mod, nozzle drill, plug the extra nozzles.)

I've modded a 1-3-5 on contract before and can say that it takes a ton of work to make one battle-worthy. You can get the range up into the mid 40s, but you're still just essentially making an inferior CPS 1500. For that reason, it's sometimes called the "poor man's 1500".

It sounds simple in theory. K-mod, nozzle drill, epoxy plug. Apparently that's not the case? I've never worked with one before, though it seems more like a "poor man's 1000/1200" than 1500.

It's not difficult, it's just friggen weak. Next war I can show you a 1-3-5 bladder compared to a 1500. They are about the same size, but the 1-3-5 feels completely inferior in both thickness and build quality. The 1500 has about 900mL in the PC and 3000mL in the rez, while the 1-3-5 has 850mL in the PC and 3160mL in the rez, so they are very comparable in field life, potential output, potential shot time, etc. The 1-3-5 is still a level above the 1000/1200/2100.

I don't see the 1500 used that often; it seems to lack range despite having superior handling, field life, shot time, and output. K-mods just add that certain kick that most stock bladders don't quite give. (With the obvious exception being the 2500/2000 bladders.)

The 1500 was a popular choice in today's Long Beach West war. Range is actually one of the 1500's strong points, it usually outperforms the 2500 by a foot or two on the 10x nozzle. Out of all top level primaries, I would place the 1500 in 4th, after the 2000, 300, and 2500. Some people would rank it above the 2500, making it a top 3 soaker. In terrain like Saugatuck, with steep cliffs and small mountains, I would place the 1500 above the 300.

When I get that leaky pull valve fixed up somehow, I'll definitely need to make comparisons. For some reason, I felt that it lacked a certain kick when I used it during the CTF around. Maybe I just wasn't used to it.
