I know monsters are overrated and almost always overpriced, but if a bargain came up, would i get a M, MX, MXL,the later MX, the later MXL, or the cps 4100? isoaker basically says the overall stats for the monster is good( I think 90) but the review isn't so great. I kinda think the MX is good, but the only ones on ebay are "cps 3010

(what is that?)"
M, MX, MXL, or 4100?

I'd take the 2001 Monster anyday. I believe it's about as powerful as the MX, but it's smaller and more manuverable. The 4100 is the same as the Monster, but it doesn't have QFD capabilities, and some of the later models have ultra-weak triggers that supposedly break after a few uses. The MXL is the least powerful, but also the biggest and most cumbersome, so that would be out of the question.
I believe that MXs are sometimes called CPS 3010s because I believe 3010 is some kind of serial number for the Monster X, so if the sticker is gone, that number is all the seller has. I don't know why they think it's part of the CPS series though.

I've been seeing some 4100s for pretty cheap,"3010s" for over 100 bucks, and a MXL thats pretty beat up for 5o. meh, no choice but to try 4100.

also the 3010 might be a cps to some people because
1. the monster was 4100
2. at that time, only cps guns had numbers in the 1000s.

I want a Monster (2001). The Monster XL has almost the same power as later releases of the Monster X. The first release of the Monster X, when it was just called Monster, was supposedly more powerful than the MXL and later MX. My MXL shoots 39 feet, and I don't remember my MX shooting much further than that, but I sold it to GJIV shortly after I got it, so he'd know better about performance than I would.
