Wanted - CPS 2000/2500 Pump Handle
Wanted - CPS 2000/2500 Pump Handle
I'm trying to restore a CPS 2000 to working order, but the the pump handle is missing. Does anyone have spares of the two handle parts that I could buy off them?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Re: Wanted - CPS 2000/2500 Pump Handle
Bits off of classic CPS blasters are extremely hard to come by. Because these blasters are so valuable, we tend to repair them rather than scrap them for parts. It should be possible to make a new one (assuming you don't mind it looking un-original, as long as it's back to working order) even if it is just a temporary fix until you find someone who does have a spare.
I won't rule it out, but can't guarantee anything either.
Good luck either way!
EDIT:
Actually, mr. dude might do! He had a broken 2000 and put it's Pressure Chamber into a FlashFlood. If he still has the casing, he'll still have the pump handle.

Thanks very much for the suggestion - I've just dropped him a PM.
Re: Wanted - CPS 2000/2500 Pump Handle
Has my mod history become famous behind my back?
Re: Wanted - CPS 2000/2500 Pump Handle
Is that such a bad thing?
Re: Wanted - CPS 2000/2500 Pump Handle
Well, it means my (many) unsuccessful mods are also on display
And before anyone thinks I'm hijacking the thread, I replied to StewGregg's PM. Of course, I couldn't help, so if anyone has a spare pump handle, go ahead and offer it!

Re: Wanted - CPS 2000/2500 Pump Handle
This problem is common to me. The best way to solve it is to build up a new pump, a homemmade one
Is not that difficult to manage, already built up 3 pumps, all working fine since months

Re: Wanted - CPS 2000/2500 Pump Handle
GJIV - what would you recommend making the replacement handle from?
Re: Wanted - CPS 2000/2500 Pump Handle
A really simple one could be made from a short length of 3"-5" pipe cut in half lengthways. Something a bit more stable (and better looking) would be a wood block, chiselled and cut into shape. You could make it in two halves, but a single piece, with a bolt through the pump rod itself, would be stronger.
Re: Wanted - CPS 2000/2500 Pump Handle
I would suggest you take PVC or something like this. You can also take just a long piece of stable material and then build up the seal( Best is when the rod is just a litte thinner than the innner diameter of the pump, but what seals up is only a little piece at the pump-rods front, which MUST fit. The rest is not that important...) So, a rod out of plastic, + a ring bringing the diameter in well shape + a fitting O-ring and the thing is fine
You can use different materials, once I used wood! haha, not that good idea...You can give the wood a great shape with the right machine(great thing) but only problem is that wood wrks with water...it will expand during contact with water, my wood pump was left inside the pump, filled with water. After half a day the pump was totally stuck in there...haha, do not use wood
But anything of Plastic, aluminium, Iron(heavy but stable ) would wrk of course

Re: Wanted - CPS 2000/2500 Pump Handle
Look for a pump rod, cut around the rod its front and put in a fitting O-ring. And see, the work is done and the cannon works SHould be done in about 15-30 minutes with some luck(always needed )
Re: Wanted - CPS 2000/2500 Pump Handle
I think he has the pump rod just not the handle.
Re: Wanted - CPS 2000/2500 Pump Handle
Thanks for all your comments and suggestions. I've got a lead on a broken CPS 2000 - but if that comes to nothing I'll try a bit of pipe as you've suggested (it's just the handle I need - all the internal workings are present and functioning).
