original SS stash found 12 guns total.

Post by Snafooz1 » Tue Jul 10, 2012 4:46 pm

Hi everyone.

I recently received a call from my parents about my stash of water guns they found while cleaning out part of the attic. I did some basic research on them and found that some of them have at least some value so i figured I would consult the experts here before randomly listing them on eBay.

I have not been able look at them yet or begin to test them to see if they work but I am fairly certain that they should, or at least they did as far as I can remember, its been 20 years.

Below is a list of what I have, again I have not verified that they work yet, I hope to do that in the next few weeks and will update as soon as I find out.

All are original models used and without boxes.
SS 200
SS 300 (all parts)
SS 100
(3) SS 50's
SS MDS
SS 25
(2) SS 20's
SS 30

Thanks,
Mike

I'll buy the SS 300 if the price is right. How much do you want?

also they said there was some kind of slig shot in with them as well? I looked on the msrp list on here but didnt see anything that listed a sling shot, maybe it was a super soaker and was something else?

I have no idea on current prices, I searched on here for a little but didn't find any straightforward prices. I kinda figured the 300 would be the rarest one. what is the going rate? ...and give me a fair price, don't low ball me :P

You can edit your post if you have something to add; there's no need to double post.

Anyway, I'm actually not sure what 300s are going for these days; I've seen some people ask obscenely high prices for them (like $200 or more.), but I don't think they usually get sold. I'll pay you $60 for it if it's in good working condition (a picture would be nice.), and it's up to you whether or not you want to give it to me for that price. I'm not spending any more than that, so take it or leave it.

Add $10 to whatever Seal's bid on the SS 300 is and that is my bid. :p

Then I still wouldn't get it, unless nobody else on the board knew about it. I could make a homemade with the kind of money that some people are willing to pay for one of these, and I'd probably have the better soaker.

Re: original SS stash found 12 guns total. (UPDATED)

Post by Snafooz1 » Wed Aug 29, 2012 9:46 am

ok guys sorry it took me so long to get an update on these. I have some good and bad news and a pic.

Good news is that they all work, they have original stickers still on them (apparently I taped them to the tanks) however they seem a little weak, i don't know if that's cause I'm not 12 anymore or if the seals are bad, they do leak water slightly but i think changing the tank seal (the garden hose one) would fix that. The 50, 100, 200 and 300 shoot like 25 ft or so, I don't remember if that's normal or not.

Bad news is that the one that everyone wants, the 300 works but it cant hold high pressure because the pressure tanks have hairline cracks along the casting seams, but it does shoot fine, obviously due to not being stored in climate controlled area. maybe it can be used for parts or something?

Anyway, this is the collection that I have, if anyone is interested in them let me know, I really don't want to throw them away, I'd like to see them go to a good home or be of use to someone as parts or something. Id prefer to get rid of them all together but if that doesn't happen no big deal.

If you have any questions about them or are interested in something please let me know. Cell is 610-704-7684 and I am located in Bethlehem PA

That is crazy close to me…

Maybe If I can convince the parents, (always my issue isn't it?) I could get these, shipping free, and cheap cause they are borked.

/wishful thinking

The distance thing I'm not sure of, i don't remember any of them ever going that far (was a long time ago) and i could be off a bit on the distance, i didn't pull out a tape measure but it should be around 25 maybe 30 but not much more than that. Either way the mds is the same as the other ones, it works, holds pressure and shoots but at really high pressure it leaks a bit, distance about the same as well.

I'm assuming that they can be taken apart and new seals installed and it should be good to go.

I didn't say free shipping but if your close your more than welcome to pick them up. shoot me an offer on the lot.
