Hi all,
just found this site while doing some research for potentially selling my 4100 mk2. I was just curious about what you guys think about pricing for one...
the only con I've ever seen about the mk2 is the trigger, but if I were to upgrade the existing trigger so that was not an issue, what kind of money do you think I could get for it?

fyi, more info about it, it is in great working condition, minor scratches in the plastic casing due to being casually set down on concrete after a fun day shooting around the pool, but I've only really used it 3 times over the years, and currently doesn't have the strap. I could probably find the strap if it makes a big difference in the price, but I took it off when I bought it because it was just kinda in the way for me to use it.

The stap would be good on eBay, but here, we like making better straps anyways, so it is no biggy. Also, for an eBay sell, dont fix the trigger if it is not broken, as it is considered uncool (and agaist the warnings of the gun) to open the gun.

Welcome to iSoaker.net!

I don't see anything wrong with selling a fixed-trigger 4100. The trigger itself is, in a way, already broken when manufactured; it has a broken design lol. If you know what you're doing, it should be fine but I'm not sure if there are those less knowledgeable about 4100's who would value a fixed one less than a stock one.

oh and apparently I just found a guide put out by ebay as to what to look out for when buying water guns... so maybe I should fix the trigger... (that was specifically listed in the guide)

If you don't do something to the trigger, it's worth $0, at least to anyone who looks up the gun. Nobody wants an MK2 4100 with the trigger left as manufactured. Replaced, reinforced, doesn't matter which, as long as it's solid. Then I'd expect standard 4100 values, $40-65, but varies - some years they are popular and others they aren't. Atvan, this is one of those things where you DO want to fix it even if it's not broken. Same goes for 2000s and 2500s. Weak triggers should always be pre-empted, especially if you're selling a gun to a random stranger who may not know the failure is coming, nor how to fix it themselves.

ok, I'll go ahead and reinforce it and then look in to selling it. Unfortunately, I don't have a workshop to keep projects like this while I'm gone so it may take a little while before it gets done.
