Very nice. Someone was wise to the fact that their material was stolen and changed the sourced images...apparently to embarass the lazy seller.

Found someone else who has stolen the entire description and pictures from another seller [url=http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SUPER-SOAKER-CPS- ... QQcmdZView
Item]here. If you notice, the pictures are all of the gun boxed, yet it comes used with no box! You can see one of the items it was stolen from (the seller has been selling loads of these) [url=http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NIB-SuperSoaker-S ... goryZ11745

Thanks for the notice... fired the offender an email to remove it by tomorrow or else I'll be reporting it to eBay (they're pretty good at clearing up stolen materials).

CPS 1-3-5

That dude didn't even bother to edit it accordingly.
Quote from the auction:

Notes: Ratings based on relative blaster size. Please see the Statistics page for more details on various terms used.
If you use any information from this page and/or any other page on iSoaker.com, please reference iSoaker.com.
Information may only be used for non-commercial uses only. Thanks!

In other words, for people who don't know better, it looks legaly as if you would be the ebay seller, isoaker.

At least he made it pretty clear that it was from isoaker.com. Most people just copy, paste and don't even try to cite the source. :soakon2:

Actually, that guy did less than most people. He didn't try to cite the source; the source was already embedded in the text that he copy-pasted. A real citation would not use the identical wording found in the original article.

Thanks for the heads-up, guys!

For those with the energy, it seems like eBay.com has set up an easier reporting method.

See: http://pages.ebay.com/help/confidence/v ... theft.html

I've sent a warning to that guy to change things by tomorrow otherwise I'll be reporting things.

In other words, for people who don't know better, it looks legaly as if you would be the ebay seller, isoaker.

Actually, what that says is that the information is NOT for commercial use, thus what is in the auction is definitely wrong and not there with permission. :goofy:

That is from the seller selling the camoed MXL. His feedback is zero so he may not know better.

dZ1QQcmdZViewItem]CPS 4100 with text ripped off from the iSoaker.com 4100 page, and changed a few places here and there. What a shame. Didn't even credit iSoaker.com...

EDIT: And the 4100 is a Soakertag Mark II 4100. So the trigger's almost guaranteed to break...

Total swipe of iSoaker.com on this [url=http://cgi.ebay.com/SUPER-SOAKER-XTRA-X ... 25952QQrdZ
1QQcmdZViewItem]XXP275 auction. This German auction has ZOCCOZ's pictures, a screenshot of the XXP275 iSoaker.com page, and iSoaker pictures throughout the auction, with the iSoaker.com writing blurred, but the iSoaker symbol still intact. This is absolute plagiarism. Terrible.

Man, that's the worst I've seen. *sigh* Time to fax in that VERO form. Funny the guy managed to blur the Copyright text in the soaker images, but missed other things, particularly in the text-block he screen capt'd.

Here's a [url=http://cgi.ebay.com/Official-CPS-1000-s ... yZ11745QQr

dZ1QQcmdZViewItem]CPS 1000 with the item description and stats ripped off from iSoaker.com, and no iSoaker reference. Amazing, we can't even think up our own description, but have to copy someone else's.

EDIT: And it looks like eBay removed that XXP275.

Well, the XXP275 one is gone now. The CPS 1000 listing is annoying, but I've seen much worse (well, the removed XXP275 listing was the WORST I've seen, actually). :goofy:

I'll let the CPS1000 listing slide if it's a one-time deal since it looks more like sheer laziness. However, if this seller sells more, I'll report it.

I need to start tracking annoying sellers. Sadly, I didn't record the name of the XXP275 auction seller.

The XXP 275 has been reposted on eBay, without any of the offending material this time. It appears the seller has learned his lesson... :goofy:

This seller :cps2000: gr8elite1 :cps2500: is always posting up fake Super Soakers i know what he is doing legal but it kinda annoys me. he is famous for saying its CPS and its not even close.

Check this one out from seller nyy313 for a CPS 3000 he gives isoaker credit but its like the whole description.

isoaker, this seems like plagerism to me: CPS2000. FYI, later Brad.

In my recent hunts on ebay for older soakers, I have recognized many descriptions from isoaker.com
If I come across any more that are current, I will post them here...
