Just looking around ebay and found this little gem of an auction:

$182.50 with 2 days left? Not to mention the Buy It Now for $750! I expect to see this auction go into the mid range 200's

why pay so much for just a cps 2000 mk1 in the box? you have to take it out if you want to use it.

As I said at SSCentral, how do you know if it's a real CPS 2000, and not a cheap ripoff?

Soakers are always better to buy if they are new in box. That way, you know that it's brand new, and you know that there won't be damage to it. If it's second hand, you don't know how it was treated by it's previous owner. Exodus bought a second hand CPS 2700, only to find that it was pressurised when it arrived, and the the pump fell off in the first day of use, when he was treating it with care. Anyway, it doesn't say if it is a Mk.1 or Mk.2. It's probably a Mk.2 since people will say in the title, "CPS 2000 Mk.1! Most Powerful Super Soaker Ever!!" If it's a Mk.2 then they usually don't mention it, because if they do it will earn them less money. It doesn't even have a picture, so there is no real way of telling the difference. But 750 US dollars is pretty darn high.

Is the Mk.1 morep owerful? I thought it jsut had a long shot time from what I was told.

the check valve is at a different level so it can be pressurized for longer. It also has a few more feet of range. The mk2 is argued by many to be very similar in preformance to a 2500. I however have never used a mk2 so i can't judge

750 bucks for a watergun, regardless of rarity or power, is simply greed. That is borderline evil.

oh well, its ended now, the person was to greedy and set the reserve price for the item to high.
EDIT: :p to that greedy person, he is probably going to relist it though.

I think the auction ended quite awhile ago... as justice would have it, it didn't sell. His reserve was way too high.

No no no, a CPS 2000 MK.2 kicks man. And I mean it kicks. The shot time is much less, and it does a lot more damage. It also fires a lot further than the 2500's 20x, although the 2500 is still an awesome gun, and not to be thought of as a push over.

Man, that person was WAY too greedy. I know CPS 2000s are extremly rare, but 750 bucks for even that is a rip-off.
And now it didn't even reach his reserve price? I really don't see why he set the reserve so high, he probably would have gotten close to it without the reserve, and without pressuring bidders to keep bidding. Most CPS 2000s go for around the price his ended at (well, the ones I've seen).

This was NIB... that'll push up a price a lot. Especially with rare guns like, well, the CPS 2000. Classics, early XPs, and CPSs, and some SCs (Monsters Included) all have expensive boxes.
