HBWW Equipment Shop?

Post by HBWW » Mon Dec 23, 2013 6:15 pm

I'd like to gather interest for anyone looking to buy equipment, which will primarily be homemades. Here, I'll list things that are for sale or will be considered for sale. All items do not include shipping, which I have to figure out separately. Shipping costs are zero if you purchase these at a community war. Most prices are not final. Not many things here are final/ready for sale. I'm primarily gathering interest.

- Water refill bottles: The stuff you're supposed to throw in recycle bins. Great for refilling water guns and perhaps other uses. Brands vary between Ice Mountain, Dasani, and Aquafina. 500mL or 591mL. Necks fit snug into most reservoirs for refilling. Other types/sizes of containers suitable for holding ammo are available for inquiry.
Price: $0.05 ea.
Max Qty: Unsure, maybe up to 100 or 200.

- Simple VHS: Classic homemade QFD in a compact package. Consists of brass hose adapter, PVC threaded 90 degree elbow, PVC ball valve, and includes one choice of the following components:
Price: Unsure, around $10

> VHS SuperCharger: The magic piece for connecting your Super Charger blaster (a drilled PVC 3/4" plug from Home Depot).
Price: $2 ea.

> VHS Nozzle: A 3/4" PVC nipple and water balloon filler nozzle. Great for filling water balloons from your hose as well as shooting.
Price: $2 ea.

> VHS Filler: A reducing piece (PVC 3/4" to 1/2" reducing nipple) for quickly filling up a blaster with less likelihood of spill. Fills faster than VHS nozzle, potentially useful as a riot blast.
Price: $2 ea.

- Dual-Valve VHS: L-shaped dual valve configuration VHS that's able to separately handle two components. Default configuration includes a VHS Nozzle and VHS SuperCharger.
Price: Unsure, around $18

- Tri-Valve VHS: I actually haven't built one of these yet.
Price: Unsure, around $26

- APH: Not yet available, need to gather interest and calculate costs.

- CPH: Not yet available, need to gather interest and calculate costs.

- Water Cannon: This product is under development. =p Will most likely be a basic LPD configuration using 2" with one air chamber. 3" chambers available if preferred. (However, 3" fittings are not rated.) Both options are disassembleable for piston maintenance. Will not sell any of these until I can get a piston verified to work reliably for the long term. Can add an optional water pump for additional cost, which will be of SuperPiston configuration (as specified in the sticky thread.) Bike pump will NOT be included. Pressure gauge optional for additional cost.

- Pump: Just the SuperPiston component of the pump. Requires, you know, an actual blaster to use. (Or a nozzle at the other end, which it turns into a perfect little PPH.) Available in different configurations and lengths, with different handles. Available in 1/2", 3/4" pumps require additional R&D (which I will gladly do and document, free of charge).

- Field Pump: Only a concept right now: A special pump that can be used to filter water, designed for use on water sources of questionable quality. (Cannot be too dirty.) Includes a SuperCharger adapter for pumping up SC-only blasters on the field. May explore other features to improve usability/tactical-ness of device. Product development expected to start Spring/Summer 2014. No guarantees.

FAQ:

- Why do your prices kind of suck?
> Mainly labor costs of me going out to buy these things and assemble them, then having to drop then off at UPS to ship to you.

- Why would I want to buy from you instead of building these on my own?
> If you're asking that, then you're probably better off building on your own. None of these items are secret, and all have been documented (albeit poorly) throughout the sites and forums. In the past, some people have wanted to be able to buy QFD's. Well, here they are, and these ones don't break unlike the stock ones.

- How do you have time for this?
> I actually don't know if I do. I'm just looking to provide a service to the community and see if I can fulfill any equipment needs, and if enough people are interested, I can make a small profit. Some of the stuff like water bottles would be really nice to get rid of too, since I have way too many.

Keep in mind, the only item on this list that I'm immediately ready to sell are the water bottles. Everything else will require some time spent to calculating costs and shipping before they're ready, and even then I need some reasonable amount of interest before selling.

I'm really only looking for special metal parts and machined internal replacements, though I may be interested in a pump down the line.

Understandable. I myself would like to get into machined parts in the future, but I'd need a lot of time spent in AutoCAD or Sketchup to model parts; parts that must be accurate and must work well. What we really need are parts that can disassemble, so for example, to make a pull valve, you use a combination of standard and machined parts. (The piston seal and springs are standard, of course, and the whole containing unit is machined.)

There's a lot to do in that direction. Until then, I will be looking at how current homemades do in combat, assuming I find the space in a checked bag to bring them, or hit the road for the next community war.
