If that's the only difference, then not really.

I dunno, why does it say "squirt" to begin with? Besides the groovy color scheme, I don't see why it would have an enthusiastic hippy-type "Squirt!" to begin with. It's a super soaker. Heck, it's a freaking CPS 1700. It doesn't squirt. It also doesn't just soak, it drenches.
Random note: Power Drencher 2000. Just think about how that sounds- of how easily the entire line could have been "Power Drenchers" and it still would be a household name.
And the Power Drencher 1700 would be more ridiculous with "Squirt!" written on the side. :P
Random note 2: The more I see "Drencher" the stranger the word becomes.

I don't know about you guys, but where i live there is a citrus soda (which is referred to as "pop" here in the midwest) called "Squirt". That is where they get "soda" from, and while i must agree that the 1700 drenches instead of squirting, it was the beverage that was being referred to.

Good call. We have Squirt down here too, it's rather hard to come by but its delicious. Grape fruit flavored or something similar if I remember right. While we are on the subject, I shot someone with mountain dew from my 1700 once. Haha

Indeed, it is quite tasty grape fruit flavored, and not too hard to come by here. In fact, i have a 12 pack in the garage! Mountain Dew Drenching? awesome.

I read somewhere about a guy filling up an SS 300 with beer at a party... but regardless of the beverage, I wouldn't want to drink any liquids out of a water gun... you get that plasticky taste. >:P

If it were my aging 12K, you'd also be tasting

. Catskill parking lot puddle water
. Muddy Hudson River water
. Chlorinated pool water
. Cape Cod marshy salt water
. Public campground bathroom water
. Jersey recycling center puddle water

and last, but certainly not least:

. Jersey orange fungus water

Don't worry, the orange fungus water will mask the rubber taste.
