Dude, are you serious about that? You know that you can get a fairly-decent used car for that amount, right? I kind of wish that I had a 2000 box (I think they're the same for MK1s and MK2s) now!

Are you for real? I don't know how, but wanting to buy a box for 1500$ let alone 150$ sounds like some kind of scam. Just think about how it sounds from someone else's point of view.
Now a CPS 2000 MK1 NIB ... who know how much that would be worth.
You would think for that much money you could post a wanted ad on ebay or get some professional help finding a box. Good luck with your search; but I don't think anyone here has a box or would be willing to sell it to you; you're certainly not getting one from me.

Also, is there any difference between a MK1 box and a MK2? I thought they were the same.

Id say legit (remember this thread anyone???). I'm guessing you've got yourself a new CPS 2000 (as the previous offer was $1,600 for both I'm assuming you got one for ~$100?) and now want a matching box. Unfortunately I can't help, other than by saying you should be able to get one for less than that (although if someone has taken their 2k out of it's box, they've probably long since binned it. Most of the remaining boxes will still have their 2k's in them. A CPS 2000 Mk2 BNIB/with box might be cheaper, and I believe the box is the same.), but good luck anyway.

Yeah, I know about the last thread this guy posted, I've been around long enough for that. Despite his persistance, it just seems strange that he would offer so much for so little.
If I open the box of a super-rare thing to use it, I wouldn't just throw out the box. Maybe im just different; so different from the thousands of people who threw the boxes away, but I would like to think there are some people out there who would care a bit more.

Sorry for the late reply, I just wanted to give some time for this thread to catch some replies.

Yes I'm serious as all seriousness can be. They can come to the East Coast and do the trade for cash or put it on ebay with a BUY IT NOW and be protected.

You can film your item entering transit and do signature/delivery confirmation. I have over 600 positives, 0 negatives and have been a member on ebay since 1988.

The reason I'd pay that much for a box is for display purposes, I have a mint 9/10 MK1 now, but it looks so naked without the box.

I have come to realize a MIB MK1 is nonexistant, and the only ones that exist are in top collectors shelf's or all the recalled ones that are now stock piled in Lonnie Johnsons garage >_< Image (urban legend)

The box would have to be a MK1 box not a MK2 box (yes they are very different).

These are very rare, and possibly none to known have surfaced in the past 8+ years. Thats the simple fact why I am offering $1,600 for a BOX.

For display purposes.

If it takes 10 years for a box or NIB MK1 to be found, this thread will still be around and my offer will always stand.

I'd never want a MK2 or a MIB MK2, or a MK2 box.. why? Because I never had an MK2 when I was a 90s kid.. I got the MK1 soon as the tv commercial hit the airways and all the neighborhood parents hated me for having a super soaker that could reach across the street and was in the news for injuring a kid. Those are memories I can never get with an MK2 display :(

MK1 NIB - $2,500
MK1 BOX (fairly mint) - $1,500

Just out of curiousity, why do you want a CPS 2000 in the box so badly? Do you have other waterguns displayed at your house? Where do you display them? Did you fight when you were younger?

I don't know, but $1500 for a box is pretty crazy, if you ask me. Just for the cherished memory of a childhood toy. I would just go outside and play with the MK1, you are lucky to have one. They don't pop up on ebay so often.

I respect that you want to acquire a box to complete your collection, but the amount of money you are offering is absurd. If you had offered, say, 500$, there would have been a lot less shock and disbelief, and a little more acceptance and helpfulness.
That being said, if a NIB CPS 2000 mk1 winds up in my lap, I would be happy to provide you with the box for 1500$.
To be honest, I like the boxes an awful lot (I have yet to throw away any boxes from my collection), and I would want the box almost as much as you do.
Good luck in your search! I hope you get one before too long!

PS what is the difference between the boxes? Is it major or minor?

Well, quite obviously, one used to have a mk 1 in it, the other had a mk 2. :goofy:

Seriously though, I am also intrigued as to whether the boxes were at all aestetically different.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm :soaked:

Looks like I'm wrong about the MK1 box and the MK2 box being different. Upon obvious research the MK1 is portrayed on the back of an MK2 box meaning that they obviously just reprinted MK1 boxes to save money and shoved MK2s in them

I did not know this, I assumed the MK2 would feature newer products on the side or show the minimized pressure gauge.

This makes the box far less rare than I thought as I now could buy an MK1 or an MK2...

This dramatically hurts the value. Who knows how many are really out there, but the chances to buy a MK2 where much greater having not been a recalled soaker.

I am still extremely interested because its till an MK1 box but I can't offer $1,500 knowing it was most likely a reprint for the MK2 and is more common..

My offer for a mint MK1& MK2 box would still be several hundred (possibly $500 or more) depending on what the seller and I can agree on and the condition of the box.

There's a box I doubt anyone is going to bid on there for 164.

(though if you were willing to go 500 maybe a couple bucks this way would be nice ;P)
