Vapco PVC Spray N' Lock for PVC Homemades?

Post by AmaIro18 » Mon Jun 15, 2020 7:20 pm

Has anyone tried this stuff?

It's basically a spray for fusing PVC. According to the company website, it is pressure tested to 215 PSI.

Allegedly it doesn't harden in the can. One thing that annoys me about PVC cement is that it doesn't really have a long shelf life after you've opened it, so this seems really convenient. Haven't tested it yet (I might if I get bored enough lol) but I thought I would post this here in case anyone would be interested in trying it.

That's interesting. Thank you for sharing. I appreciate how you bring new stuff to the table in your threads.

For this hobby, I could see using this spray. At home, I'm not so sure. I realize that getting a 1/4-turn on the pipe after insertion is often considered a best practice, but I can't always turn the pipe when tying into existing household plumbing — in this case, traditional PVC primer & cement still haven't failed me. However, I can imagine a 1/4-turn being more critical with this spray to ensure thorough cement coverage. When making water blasters, it should be easier to abide by the instructions.

Have you used this stuff yet?

Yeah I tried it. I got bored enough and caved. So far I only have used it to complete a PVC pump that I have been procrastinating on completing. It works pretty well I would say. For PVC water guns, it's pretty convenient. Not sure about household plumbing though.
