Today I tested my own-design WBL. The PC is 5 feet of 3" pvc, the sprinkler valve uses 2 1" double male adaptors on each side, and the barrel is 3 feet of 3" pvc. The 3" barrel allows for a much bigger bigger water balloon to be lanched (sp?). I thought it would get 200 feet at 100 psi, but I was suprised when it got close to 300 feet (at 100 psi).
