Re: My new CPS system (Almost Done!!!)
Working on the laminator, I just have to buy some screens (Tobacco pipe screens don't work) and find the three peices. Somehow I lost them somewhere....
Re: My new CPS system (Almost Done!!!)

So here is the gun with the new ball valve. I tested it out yesterday, and the solar shower does leak some still, though not as much as it did before. Does anyone know how I could fix this?
The ball valve works very well. I can't exactly do tap shots with it, but I can do short bursts.
Right now all I dare to pump is up to 25, because then the case starts to move back, and I know that's all the case will take. When I get drain pipe for the PC case, I'm going to cut it three feet, and I don't think I'll bother with an encap on the back of the gun, just so I can check how big the PC is, and know when to stop pumping.

OR you could make a meter like a 2000/2500/3000/3200. All you have to do is make a slightly wide slit and cover in clear plastic.

Which part of the solar shower is still leaking?

Re: My new CPS system (Almost Done!!!)
Most likely the connection to the hose/shower. I think fishfan epoxied or glued it.

Re: My new CPS system (Almost Done!!!)
It leaks where the elbow goes to the bag itself. I put a ton of hot glue on it, and some plastic modeling cement, but It still leaks some. It drips very rapidly, so it will have to get fixed.

Re: My new CPS system (Almost Done!!!)
OR you can get a new 2.5 gal shower, but you can try to use PC®'s Aqua Epoxy. In home depot! 2 oz., paste, 2 part.

RAWRRR!!!!!
*turns in to hulk* RAWWWWR! *Rips the remnants of the LRT into shreds* *Throws a nuke on the shreds of LRT* *Runs like never before*
MY BLADDER POPPED AGAIN!!
At least now I know (Or think I do) what the problem is.
The lubricant I am using must be the problem. I am NOT pumping it to above it's capacity, I've see in pictures the LRT having more water in it.
I noticed the pump was a little hard to pump, so I lubricated it and it glided easily. But after I pumped it 24 times, took it outside, just about to shoot it, BAM, it popped. Water went through every single crack. So, it was after I re-lubricated it, then I started having problems. So next time, only get silicone grease, not Dupont teflon silicon lubricant.
Unfortunately, I have spent almost all my money, so I can't get a replacement any time soon.
EDIT:Just read on the warning lablel:"WARNING: EXTREMLY FLAMABLE. Contains petroleum distilates."
*burns it*
Helps when you read the label sometimes!
P.S. Alexander, can you tell me more about what you have as a bladder?

Re: My new CPS system (Almost Done!!!)
I just thought of something. Would gum rubber tubing work for something like this? Or any other tubing?
If not, I have another idea. For my CPS riptide, could I use 1/8 ID 1/2 OD? This would require only one layer, as it is 55 PSI as-is, which is equivalent to the bladder I used, with two layers. That would mean no layering LRT. Ben or Drenchenator would probably know the answer to this one.

Gum rubber probably would end up dead. It has to have similar or greater expansion and retracting properties of LRT/CPS, and would have to last.

Re: My new CPS system (Almost Done!!!)
I would not use 1/8 inch ID, 1/2 inch OD tubing for a CPS bladder.
Two things are needed for good performance -- high pressure and high (and good) flow. Just because the pressure is very high, doesn't mean it would perform well. The ID of the tube is 1/8 inch, which is tiny. It's difficult enough to try to get 3/8 inch ID LRT onto a 5/8 inch barb -- imagine how hard it would be to try using a 1/8 inch ID tube. To use this tube, you would have to use a tiny barb, which means the gun would have low flow. This would hurt the performance.
Remember, LRT only expands a few times in diameter. Let's say it expands 6 times in diameter (roughly correct). A 1/8 inch ID tube would only expand to 3/4 inch; a standard 3/8 inch tube would expand to 2 1/4 inches inside. That's a big difference, and it means that the standard 3/8 inch tube holds a lot more water.
On another note, I think Ben mentioned before that tubes like this one (high pressure and low inner diameter) would pop after only a few expansions.
In the end, the best method is to just use regular sized LRT, and to layer it. It may be tedious, but it performs much better.

Re: My new CPS system (Almost Done!!!)
Okay, I was thinking of stretching it over a 1/2 inch barb, because the firing barrel is 3/8 inch, so I didn't think it would affect performance. (This is for the CPS riptide I will make) But I will do it the normal way. Drench, have you experimented with gum rubber tubing?

Re: My new CPS system (Almost Done!!!)
Ben and I never tried out gum rubber. I can't say for sure if it is better than LRT. It might be, but it might also not be. Given that both are about the same price, and that LRT is advertised as being highly elastic, I don't really see any advantage in gum rubber. In you're worried about chemical damage, McMaster's documentation says that both LRT and gum rubber tubing are about even in chemical resistance. But nobody has tried it out to see how it performs, so we really don't know how well (or poorly) it may perform.

Okay. I will stick with LRT then.

Re: My new CPS system (Almost Done!!!)
Are you using straws for the laminator? I would imagine you could do without the screen, by putting glue between all of the straws, and gluing it to the walls of the pipe, instead of relying on the screen. Removing the screen from one of my Flash Floods improved the ranges, and in general, I think that making holes smaller will just restrict flow. That being said, I would like to try making a few different laminators with different sizes of straws- I'd like to know if 19 small straws are better than 7 big straws, or maybe 37 tiny straws. Mythbusters style. Lololololol.

I heard somewhere (I think ssc) that glue Is bad for laminators...
