Okay., maybe I will do that. 1/2 inch CPVC work for a 1/2 inch ball valve? Poseiden, I only saw up to 3L. I saw a 25L in the military section though. But those camelbaks can be as much as I spent on the water gun itself. Is there a cheaper alternative, besides the solar shower?

Eh, i think if you were to buy a 3000/3200, you could swap packs with a solar shower. I wouldn't, but i had to because my 3200 didn't come with pack.

Okay. If you like the 3000/3200 backpack attachment, but want it on your CPH, you could put it on. On the connector of the 3200/3000, cut off the area leading to the backpack. attach a plastic tube to the cut part, securing it with a hosing clamp or 2. Then you could attach the tube to the gun however way you want. To still have a backpack for your 3200/3000, simply attach the connector with the solar shower tube, then secure with clamps. Backpack on CPH, Solar Shower on 3000/3200.

Oh, I see what you mean. I don't have a 3200 or 3000 yet though, but may get one soon. we will see how it goes.

Yes, yes. The camelbak seems to be gone, however, the 6l solar shower-type bag is still up at REI.com. check it out!

Does anyone know of any tutorial or instructions on how to make a frame backpack? I know there is one on SScentral, but it doesn't have any materials list.

Here! :goofy:

Depending on how much the stuff costs, you might be better off buying an old one (US ALICE style?).

Haha, that was funny. How did you do that? I did search more after I posted, and I found how to make a backpack out of PVC, but I don't know how or where to buy/make the straps. I think I will end up buying an old US ALICE one.

Then just search what you want someone else to search, click 'Google Search' then copy the URL. You can use the button to shorten the URL, but it takes ages.

I finally got to work on the ball valve torque arm. I cut a groove in the sch 40 pvc, and flattened the edge the side that will face the handle. I do not have the bolts, washers, or nuts yet, and I have not drilled the holes for them.
I also fixed the hole in the solar shower with hot glue and some plastic cement, and I reinforced the area where the tube meets the bag with hot glue.

Note: I know the date is wrong, I just haven't changed the date and time yet on the camera.

Here is the updated list(I will stop editing the old one and just add the edits for each post that shows notable progress):

1.)Pump: The pump is difficult to pump, probably because lack of lubrication and third layer of LRT makes it very difficult to pump.
Solution: Lubricate pump, remove 3rd layer of LRT (Has been done)
2.)Range: Poor stream lamination makes between 30-35 ft level range.
Solution: Make a Nozzle laminator. (Work in progress)
3.)Bladder: LRT has popped twice, first on the two inner layers, second time, only the inner layer.
Solution: No solution I have come up with yet. I will give you information about it so anyone can help me with solving this problem. I have two layers, each 1 foot long. The case is 2 feet long, 4" DWV pipe. Hope this info helps. Will give more if needed.
4.)Firing system: Plastic ball valve extremely hard to turn.
Solution: Replace plastic ball valve with a metal ball valve, or add a torque arm. (Torque arm has been made, has not been attached to ball valve.)
5.)Reservoir: The 5 gallon solar shower has a hole right where the tubing meets the bag, and this has happened to another solar shower I have not used for homemade water gun purposes.
Solution: Glue/epoxy hole, or use 3000/3200 backpack. (Fixed with hot glue and some plastic cement, also reinforced with hot glue.
6.)Backpack: I do not have a frame backpack, and I do not know how to make one.
Solution: Get an ALICE style backpack frame.
7.)Weight: The water gun is fairly heavy, even when I don't have it pressurized.
Solution: Replace 4" DWV pipe with 4" Drain pipe, which is much lighter. I'm not sure if the DWV endcaps will fit on the drain pipe though. (Has not been worked on)
That's all for now.

Seems like you're movin' along there. That's good. You'll make me learn what to and what not to do when making my homemade... The Better pak!, or you call it PPP! poseidon's powa pak! I'm gettin' ahead of myself Really fast.

How Much[lengthwise] LRT are you using? If 1 foot, I suggest to make the casing 2 1/2 feet, if you didn't already... 1 ft. lets say...1.3 liters. pc volume. Lube your pump, plleeaasse take that layer off, And reinvent the nozzle selector! :D try to use light, yet durable material, and have a fair stream laminator. Finally, a psychadelic paint job with the backpack black, tubing clear/metalic/whatever GJIV used for his hydrocannon, and the rest camo! Estimated at 20x output 50ft effective, 56 level, 60.12665675 max. :goofy:
Weight when not filled- 5lbs. when filled- just gun- 7lbs- backpack-10lbs

Dream Stats, huh? Well, make it happen! we're countin on you! :)

You are getting ahead of yourself. You have over twice as many posts as I have and I joined before you! I'm not sure if I will get to a nozzle selector on this gun, but hopefully someone makes one and posts a guide before I get to building my CPS 3000 replacment (Drenchenator already build one- it's called a riptide.) I am also going to build a Powerpak- like gun, and it will have a trigger too!
PS I already lubricated it and removed the third layer, its says that on the list. And also, the LRT is 1 foot. When I get a drain pipe piece, I will increase it to 2 1/2 feet. I don't want it to be too long, and the reason why it is 2 feet now is because I bought a 2 foot section of DWV, so I wouldn't have to cut it.
By the way, does DWV endcaps fit on drain pipe?
One other thing, when Ben measured the range on his CPH from the guide, did he angle it 45 degrees, angle it slightly, or have it level? he said it had 60 ft range.

I believe that's 45 degrees....

We could work together on the powerpak homemade maybe...?

FINALLY, a success story. I tested the gun out today, and it was at least 10x easier to pump than before. AMAZING! And there is no less range than when I had 3 layers. No more range either, but that is obviously not surprising.

We could work together on a powerpak homemade, but for me to make the one I planned for me, I will have to get some money first, and save up considerably more for college, because my parents are telling me I don't need to spend more on water guns, I need to save up for college. I plan on going to Embry Riddle, which is far more expensive than most colleges (>50k a YEAR). Right now I have almost no money left, only for improvements on on this CPH. I will be making a powerpak (a smaller version) for my younger brother, and since he is so rich, (I used to be much richer than him) he will buy the materials. I will have to convince my parents to build another water gun too. Anyways, with that aside, we can work together on it, but only over the internet. I heard you were going to the water war thing (forgot the name) this fall, and that means you are up north. I am way down south in Florida, where no one heard of good water guns before.

I got the screws today, and I attached the torque arm to the ball valve. It is MUCH easier to turn. I also got a quick connect hose thing, paticularly, this.

I realized this is the QFD of homemades, I didn't realize this before. Anyways, that is one of my nozzles.
Pictures are to come soon!

They do work very well as QFD's especially with a waterstop connector. They also work extremely well as nozzles if you get one with a smooth change in internal diameter.

I will take a picture of the gun with the new ball valve, I just haven't gotten to it yet!
