Potentially a way to clean sun bleached super soakers

Post by sparky » Mon Jun 13, 2022 4:37 pm

Hi all,

I saw this video on restorations of PlayStations and part of it had me thinking this technique could work on sun bleached super soakers.

Check it out here:

If anyone knows if this will work let me know!

It probably will work. From what I've read the yellowing is caused by a fire retardant added to the plastic.

I haven't tried it myself, but my CPS 1000 could use this treatment as part of its restoration!

Edit: Wikipedia has more information on the technique: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Retr0bright
