Flash Flood dental rubber band repair

Post by hmkobe » Sat Jul 11, 2015 4:46 am

Hello,
I am now trying to open Flash Flood to fix it but have one problem. Does anyone know how to get this green pump cap off? I think it's glued on, so maybe no choice but cut in 2 pieces? Please help.

try using a flathead screw driver to gently pry the green part away from the silver. Take it slowly and vary the which side you pry to reduce stress on any one part of the plastic.

Thank you very much. I was able to open it.
Now, I am facing this main nozzle valve spring worn-out issue. I know using a rubber band will be the best thing to do, but found it is very difficult to do. Anyone please tell me if you know any better idea or best rubber band repair example. Thank you very much.

Bring the broken spring to a hardware store and start shopping! (The only places I know of that might have extension springs that small are ACE Hardware and Menards, but those places are probably only in the U.S.) You might have to find them online, but I never managed to identify which kind of spring it was. Some Google research on spring types/specs will help you out.

Some have also reported success with dental rubber bands. Basic rubber bands will not last and will have the same problem again shortly.

Also, putting silicone grease on the ball valve should help improve its movement, which reduces wear and tear on the trigger assembly.

Dental rubber bands work great and give a much better trigger feel.

You can also "De Max-D" the flash flood. It has been covered elsewhere...

I personally gave up on fixing the bottom spring/valve on one of my Flash Flood and removed the trigger. Now it only shoots out of the Flood nozzle.

Now I recognized it is difficult to get the similar kind of springs and dental rubber bands. A dental rubber band! where on earth can I get that?

I bought some springs and tried but failed. The tension was too strong and I couldn't even pull the trigger. Now I found dental rubber bands on ebay and bought some. For now, I look forward to receiving them. Thank you.

I am still waiting for dental rubber bands which has been shipped from China. By the way, anyone please, kindly teach me some good example to de max-d the trigger. I am just unsure if dental rubber bands will work or not and that de max-ding seems most effective way.

I remember wearing those when I had braces! They are much stronger than traditional rubber bands. Great repair!

For additional information, I had to put at least 3 pieces of that rubber band to get the enough tension to move max-d trigger mechanism. Thank you!
