ok so i put a layer of electrical tape around the rubber on the end of the pump rod, and then lubricate it?

Yup, it looks like Ben's article is good...although you might want to try just plain old lubrication first. The lubricant you got looks good, and I guess you don't really need a spray...this should do the trick. Good luck!

Alternatively, you can completely redo the pump with a homemade one. It'll take quite a bit of trial and error, but it should definitely work.

Look here- the CPS 1000 doesn't have an O-ring, but a wierd rubber ring, that has some length. It has just been worn down over the years

The 2100 also has a similar pump end, it doesn't use the typical O-ring.

Almost every seperate PC/CPS gun has this kind of "O-ring". Even the latest guns( MI FF) have them. What I just said excludes the homemades
