XP 90

Post by teamfear » Sun Jun 07, 2009 8:55 pm

My friend gave me his xp 90 (pulse fire) and I fixed its reservoir but then it burst in my face. I'm okay but now I gotta make a screw in resivor. I think I will buy the parts in a bit. Should be relatively cheep. I'll post pics when its done.

Sounds good. You could probably do some neat mods, keeping the pulse fire nozzle and body while using a PVC pressure tank.

The only thing I'm worried about is the other internals strength. I gotta salvage the O ring off the broken tank also.
UPDATE
I got all the parts except for a 2" end cap. The tank will be a little over a liter and made of abs. I also need more epoxy.

This thing rocks. There is a large capacity and now the gun has an awesome feel to it. I just need to re-glue an o ring. I get my camera back soon!

What part did you use to thread the homemade reservoir on? Just a regular male adapter? Which size?

If the old O-ring has trouble fitting in and sealing, you can wrap the thread in teflon tape instead. Also, you could turn this into a regular reservoir with a cap, instead of having to unthread the whole reservoir to refill.

Actually, back in the day, a number of XP90s were recalled due to tanks bursting on people. Glad you weren't hurt!

As for your repair/replacement, sounds great! Share pics if/when you can!

The internals leak too. The tank sealed fine but now its gonna be mighty hard to open the blaster again considering where I expoyed the pipe threader. I will take a picture of the gun when I get my camera back so you can see the other repair but in my mind the gun was just too old and too weak. It isn't that powerful but the new tank made it as long as the 1500. It looked cool but I am busy with other water warfare related projects so I guess this one will have to wait.

A skilled user with a mediocre gun can give a new user with a CPS 2000 a headache. Please think before you post.

Alright I don't wanna start another Teh Moron issue. Metaturtle it is clear you are interested in super soakers. Thats great. If you want to trash talk us please keep it team related. It bothers me that you would insult someones work. Its no big deal. I'm fine with trash talk, steel_boot has done his far share of it to me.

Alright that resolves that. Why don't you make a post in the team registry to tell us more about your team?
