In this case, if you want to completely replace the pump grip, you'll need to think of what type of grip you'd rather be holding and then mount that grip onto the pump-rod. The Legacy's
Pump Reinforcement Guide has some sections that should help. You may end up needing to drill a hole through the pump-rod such that a bolt can be used to attach your new grip (or the old grip) back onto the rod. By doing so, you may end up losing a little bit of the overall available pump stroke length, but then again, you'd have a functioning pump.
