In the spirit of _Project 4100i, I decided to finally get around to drilling open my busted up 4100. Inside I found some pretty ordinary (for CPS soakers) looking components, however it looks as if you could saw the inner nozzle and get close to a 60x or more. Here are the pics.

Nice pics! Now, there's one 'nekkid' CPS4100... :goofy:

What are you planning to do with it, if I may ask?

As an aside, this thread feels more 'Workshop' oriented so I'm currently considering moving it.

Don't all CPS guns have that huge neck behind their nozzles?

I might fix it up so I can use it as a backup, if I get some duct tape to hold it together and use what was attached to the trigger to fire it, I guess it would be a lighter 4100.

Yup, felt like moving this thread so... Presto!

Anyhow, perhaps people would be interested in seeing a variety of soakers' internals? If so, I just might be tempted to see what I can do to help.

Of course they would be, what do you think SSCentral's internals section is for? It is a little small though, you likely could get a many more internal pics. I would like to see that. :)

Impossible, there is no soaker that is sold that could be like that. The internal diameter is way too small. Dual air pressure PCs on a homemade with a 3/4" internal diameter could just get about 50x at most.

If there's going to be a 50x nozzle, the range will be under ten feet with any power less than a fire hydrant. anything over 30x is simply impracticable.

Y'know, I never noticed the Internals part on SSCentral. Cool!

Anyhow, I'll see what I can do to push up some pics.

The clear tube limits the maximum size the CPS-chamber can expand. This is to prevent over-expansions and potential bursting of the CPS-chamber (which, for all intents and purposes, is a thick-walled rubber balloon).
