Re: CPS 1000 pressure chamber casing help
Maybe the orange part isn't ment to be in the blue part at all, it is a real head scratcher, I don't know much about this stuff but this seems to happen a lot. The Max-D 2000s I repaired didn't go back together as well as they did before I took them apart, there is a bigger gap behind the handle then there was before. Will the gun still go back together/work like this? If it well then I'd say screw it and just put a little dick-tape to hold it just in case.

I think this is a classic case of "just try harder".
I mean, you haven't changed the shape of the bladder or the case so there is no reason it would fit before and not now.

Yeah, it just irritates me that this fit perfectly fine before, and now it won't fit even with no changes to the bladder or case. It baffles me. I had been tossing around the idea of sanding down the groove area of the case, and I think that will be my next step.

Well, I put it back together and tested it. The PCC held up, but I need to lighten or remove the K-Mod because the pressure release valve activates after 4 pumps...

Re: CPS 1000 pressure chamber casing help
I'm down to 15 ballons and now it activates after 5 pumps. Whoope. It has the same amount of shot time as the Pulse Master on the biggest nozzle. Guess the 1000 won't be K-Modded for the year...
Re: CPS 1000 pressure chamber casing help
Disabling the PRV would fix the low HPL. Of course, if you do that, then you have to count your pumps and be sure not to exceed what it can handle, and there aren't many good ways to figure out what said limit is.

Re: CPS 1000 pressure chamber casing help
Is there a specific mark of the 1000 with a low HPL? I am pretty sure all 1500s have low HPLs, as testified by GJIV and myself. 2100s are supposed to have the best HPL for k modding, right? XN did say back in the day that taking putting a 1000 bladder in a 2100 was a power mod in itself. Just a few things to think about concerning various weapons and their HPLs. I'd like for the community to put together a study on this eventually.
These things can be tricky.

Re: CPS 1000 pressure chamber casing help
Nah, I don't really want to disable the PRV. If not me, I'm sure someone else would blow my gun up. Besides, my 1000 is the most powerful gun in my area anyway, even without the K-Mod.
Note to community: Avoid CPS 1000 Mk. 3s. They REFUSE to work properly or be modified.

Re: CPS 1000 pressure chamber casing help
1000 marks are fairly messy, I don't know if there's any good way to differentiate just based on sight. I know that my 10K has 40 balloons on it and an intact PRV, so it must be a different version than what Nitro has. SSCentral does say that the 1000 mk3 is the most difficult to modify. However, it also lists performance as "superior" when evidently it has low HPL. Have you been able to accurately test the ranges? It would be helpful to see if there is a range difference between 1000 marks, and whether that superior label is due to stock performance and not modded performance.
@M4: I still have a 1000/2100 and it performs as if it's been lightly K-modded, maybe 15-25 balloons worth. It's an unknown mark of 1000 PC in a 2100 mk3. 2100's aren't necessarily endowed with the best HPL, it depends upon the mark. Mk1 goes sky high, mk3 is acceptably high, mk2 is a nightmare with comparable results to Nitro's - 5 balloons and then it kicks in.

Re: CPS 1000 pressure chamber casing help
I think there's a physical difference but I can't verify it since I'm not at home. I tested out several 1000s over the years and charted stock performance vs each other. I have 2 at home and 1 is an mk3 (glued nozzle). I don't know anything about their HPLs, but both shoot the same distance (40 ft). However, my mk3 has a little bit smaller nozzle and the output is less. http://hydrowar.com/cps1000.html

Re: CPS 1000 pressure chamber casing help
Is there a way to increase the pressure needed to trigger the pressure release valve? I know at least be some way of adjusting it because my friends is malfunctioning and it hits the PRV after 5 pumps and I don't think it is modded (or he didn't do it at least).

Re: CPS 1000 pressure chamber casing help
I don't know how to do that with a stock PRV because they are usually very small and glued. However, with a homemade PRV, the strength of the spring you use determines what pressure is required to activate it.

Re: CPS 1000 pressure chamber casing help
Oh, well, maybe latter when I get around to opening my friends 1000 I will ask about how to disable that and how many pumps you can do. As long as I have it apart, I will probably K-mod (is that the one with the balloons?) it, getting a gun apart has always been my biggest problem, once that is done I can generally find the problem and fix it.

GJIV changed out the spring in his 1500 PRV. He's the one you need to talk to. I'd like a guide on doing that... *cough*

Re: CPS 1000 pressure chamber casing help
I removed all of the ballons on my 1000, and now it pumps and fires as it should. It's also leaking, so I guess everything is back to normal with my CPS 1000.
