Hey all, I just got an XP 150. Actually, I got it about a week ago, but I opened the box it and the 2 1200's I won came in just yesterday, because I have been gone at Lake Tahoe for a week (that's a different story).
I haven't tried it yet, but the pump pushed air, so I know it works in that regard. The pump feels strong, but squeaky.
It took me 5 mintes to figure how to unscrew the odd tank on top. It feels a bit flimsy. Is there anything I should be careful to do when unscrewing the tank?
The trigger also feels a bit weak, but works well.
Anyway, one of the reasons I was so interested in the XP150 was because of the riot blast nozzle. Supposedly the nozzle screws off. Could anyone tell me how I could do this? I don't want to break the nozzle trying to do this, but it sounds like a cool thing.
Oh, and the XP150 I got is not the original edition, but the "improved" one. It has the newer colors.

My original 1993 XP 150's tank did seem a little unusual at first, but I have not run into any problems with it. I believe that you have the 1998 version from what you have described though, and that probably threads on differently.
If you were expecting anything impressive from the riot-blast nozzle on the XP 150, I'm afraid that you're in for a disappointment. The nozzle is threaded on and can be removed if you use a wrench (on the 1993 and 1998 versions only however). The riot-blast really is nothing more than at best a 10 foot shot that lasts barely a second. Nothing really impressive sadly.

Yeah, I have the 1998 version. Just checked in the armory. The tank lifts up in the front and then twists a half-circle, and can then be removed. It feels a little weak, though.Doom wrote:My original 1993 XP 150's tank did seem a little unusual at first, but I have not run into any problems with it. Bummer about the riot blast. A 10-foot blast isn't worth it to me to take a wrench to my 150 and risk breaking it. But 1 second is normal for a riot blast, so I don't see what the problem is there. ???
I can only hope the regular stream works well. The PC's look fairly large. I was suprised at the size of the XP150. It was a little larger than I expected.

The XP150 is a great all-purpose air-pressure soaker. Sadly, there are no equivalents produced these days to its power and performance. Before the CPS series, the XP150 was *THE* soaker to have. The newer version has a better reservoir attachment than the original. It may feel on the flimsier-side, but I've never had it come undone during any battle. It holds a decent amount of water, too.
The best thing of the XP150 is the wonderful stream it can push. It may not be a 5x stream, but it can sting better than most other soaker streams. The pump on mine is also rather squeaky, so no surprise there (pumping mine without the reservoir sounds like choking a duck... not that I know what a choking duck sounds like
). I'm also sad that they don't make pumps as large as the one on the XP150. That pump pushes twice the water of the typical pumps found currently (even the CPS-class soakers have 30mL pumps while the XP150 pushes a good 75mL per stroke).
I believe you'll enjoy using your newly acquired XP150.

Great! I'm glad I got it, I guess. I had just viewed it as a toss-in with the 2 1200's I was mainly winning the auction for. I'm glad to hear it's more than that.isoaker_com wrote:The XP150 is a great all-purpose air-pressure soaker. Sadly, there are no equivalents produced these days to its power and performance. The tank looks to be quite large. And 75mL per stroke! Is it hard to pump? That's an incredible amount of water per pump!
I have a bit of work my parents require me to do before testing out my new 1200 (my brother bought the other one in the auction) and XP150. I guess I'll start on that work right away! I need to try out these soakers!
