Battle for Little Creek

Post by marauder » Mon Jun 26, 2017 3:27 pm

Battle for Little Creek

Date: Saturday, July 31st
Location: Little Creek, Clayton, NC

Attendance: 8 confirmed, several locals possible, all members and guests invited
Marauder
Chief
SEAL
Chupacabra
Tony
Scott
David
Ambush

Schedule:
1) Isolated POWs have overpowered their guards and taken their weapons.
Unfortunately, almost all ammo has been expended during the fight with the guards. Link up with the other POWs while avoiding capture from the rest of the guards, who are now on your tracks. POWs/Rebels have 3 lives.

2) Find and rescue the General
After linking up you must rescue the General who is held in an unknown location deep in the recesses of the green hell. You cannot yell or scream as this will draw enemy forces to your area and they may kill the General rather than surrender him to the rebels. Link up with the General and avoid being eliminated in order to complete this round. POWs/Rebels have 3 lives.

3) Escort the General to the dam to meet up with reinforcements.
If he is eliminated, you lose. Make it to the dam with the General to win this round. If the General hits an attacker the attacker is eliminated. POWs/Rebels have 3 lives.

4) Assault the arsenal.
Now that you have secured reinforcements the General has directed your attention to a powerful arsenal located along the water. This arsenal contains high powered blasters, equipment, and food that are imperative to the success of your little force. Seize the arsenal at all costs. POWs/Rebels have a 15 minute grace period with infinite lives. After the initial 15 minutes you have 3 lives.

5) Kill 'Em All
Go on the offensive with your new found heavy weapons and supplies. The hunters become the hunted. Each water warrior only has 1 life. 1hk. Last team left standing wins it all!

I think a lot of the membership has been "nerfed" if you know what I mean. Ain't too many purists left.

As mentioned in the thread, the HOG will be postponed if attendance is less than 5v5. Everyone I've talked to about it says it sounds awesome, but many are unsure of their availability. I still think we'll easily get the minimum five heads on our side. The ball is in all y'all's court. Do you want to be a lazy nerf modder and run around fields while making middle school jokes, or do you want to be a badass water warrior and live out an epic adventure in an unforgettable location?

A war down south might be possible. marauder and I went hiking a month or so ago and found a pretty cool field for a naval-type war that I kind of want to do at some point. I also found another location near here that might work. I do want to host something down here sometime. In addition to the war, I live in a bigass house with a pool that could make for some sick parties. There's also lots and lots to do in the Charlotte area. I went ziplining (spelling?) a couple weeks ago.

Also marauder, we should meet up again. I'll text you when I get the chance. I'd be down to meet up with others in the area too.

I have been meaning to host a few things this summer, but I've been so focused on work that not much other than work has happened. Right now I'm in Princeton, NJ for the next week, but I'll be back in Maryland through the end of August after this.

If someone could host something in NC/TN and I could get a ride either from a nearby train station or from Maryland, I'd be willing to participate. Weekdays are unfortunately off limits. I think a train would be okay for water guns because there's no TSA and I don't imagine they'd be happy even if you check a water gun. They also might damage the gun. On a train if you can put it in a box, no one will know.

Danny came up with an idea last night. He asked if we could film some more and come up with a highlight/blooper video. We could do a single day war in August and spend the rest of the day/evening filming. If anyone is interested.

I really apologize for my absence. I've just been busy adjusting to living by myself. But things are finally quieting down and I've been putting an lot of thought and work into planing for the HOG. Like SEAL said, as long as we get enough people I absolutely plan on hosting it. It will be epic, you all have my word. So please everyone, post your schedule on the HOG topic, I was going to wait for everyone to post there availability, (That's part of the reason I haven't said anything in a while) but it doesn't seem to be happening. We gotta think of some other way to reach out to everyone. Do you all have each other's numbers, Or some better way of getting an hold of everyone? I will post again on the topic very soon.

But aside from the HOG, I really miss hanging out and fighting with you all. We really do need to all get to together more. I was planing on going down to NC sometime this summer to visit my family, so I'd totally be down to meeting up and fighting or whatever. As of now all weekend in July and August work for me, (Except for the date we decide on for the HOG of course). And if we end up having something in NC I'd be passing though Maryland anyway, so I'd be more then happy to pick up SSCBen, Scott, or anyone else in the DC area.

Brandon and I are planning on getting together on the 15th. You should come down for that weekend.

July 15 works for me if someone is willing to pick me up from Baltimore. I can help pay for gas.

I will try to put together some details for the 15th. Ben, do you have Nick's number? Maybe you two could carpool. He is in Baltimore too.

Does the MOAB venue @ Little Creek suit everyone?

That should work for me, and I'd be happy to car pool with somebody. The only problem is my car's an two seater, and it's not running that great. How's your car running these days DX? If you're interesting coming, maybe we could car pool, and if Nick isn't available maybe pick up SSCBen on the way? If not, I can try to fix it in the next few days. Again I can only take one person, but I'd be happy to pick someone up.

And I'd love to fight at Little Creek again. Could we maybe do some night fighting too? I can't remember the last time we had a hardcore night round in a dense forest. And also is it okay if I bring some cameras and stuff? I need more hardcore photos for the WWN homepage, and I need good battle footage. And if that's coll with you all. Can I ask everyone to bring all their camo and battle gear? So we can get some really good pictures.

I asked Nick if he would be interested in attending a war this summer, and he's not. You might want to try asking yourself.

That venue sounds good.

Edit: I looked at the train schedule and I can get to Rayleigh, NC at about 9 pm on June 14 without much trouble. Would be fairly expensive and I'd need to be picked up from the station, but it's doable.

My car runs...but I dunno if I want to do another long drive after just having done the 16 and 14 to Ohio last weekend. Ask me when it's cooler out and I'm not melting, I can't think straight right now due to melting.

SCCBen, I'll diffidently find a way to come pick you up in, or near Baltimore, one way or another. Just PM my your address, or the address of where you wanna meet. The money you save form not taking the train you can give to me for gas money haha! (I'm totally joking of course) But seriously, I got you my friend, no worries.

And DX, no problem man, just let me know whats good when you can think straight. I might be able to bum a car off my dad or grandparents if worst comes to worst, in that case all three of us (hopefully we'll get someone else two) can head down.

Let me know what you all think, and lets make this happen.

It looks like I will only be able to host a 1 day war right now. I hope everyone is still cool with that. It looks like numbers will still be good. Even though we have less members than usual attending we may have a few non members show up. We will make it as fun as we can.

I will start putting together an itinerary.

Lastly, can someone PM me instructions on how to change the title of this topic? *edit* thanks Ben

If everyone can get here by Friday evening we will be having a night war. I plan on kicking off Saturday with a high stakes CTF battle followed by long OHS.

If you plan on attending please post a list of working primary level (no pistols or Helix) blasters that you can bring to the fight. I need this for planning purposes. Thank you.

1 x XP Pool Pumper Blaster
1x SC 600 with 4x nozzle mod
1x XP 310
1x XP 70 with XP 110 PC mod
1x WW Gargantua
4x WW Python 2

I'm not sure I'll be bringing any blasters because I don't think I'll have the chance to pick any up from my parents' between now and then. You all will be informed here if this changes. I'll see if I can stop by next weekend.

Hmm, I'll see if I can make it. I'd need guns and camo 'cause I left them in New York. Chief, can you bring me my stuff if you come? I'll ask my cousins if they want to come too.

If you bring nothing else, please bring long pants. The boys and I visited the battlesite yesterday in shorts and that was a big mistake. There are razor sharp grasses and flowers (yeah, I know) on the way in and our legs got shredded with thousands of tiny papercuts. It hurts to even put dress socks on now.

Sounds intense. Did you take any photos? I'd like to see what we're dealing with as I intended to just bring some dark trackpants. Would that be enough or should I get something thicker?

I will try to get some posted soon. I know I have footage of the war, and Sam and Rob do as well. That is from New Years, however, so it's much thicker now.

The only photos I have are from the MOAB thread - http://waterwar.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=123&t=6875 but even these were from March and were from further upstream than we will be fighting. You get some kind of idea though. Actually, we will probably do some filming in this area because it looks really interesting.

My recommendation is to wear cargo pants or camo pants. Track pants would be perfectly fine for the battlefield itself, but there are a lot of thorny plants on the way in.

And I'll be bringing my CPS 2500, and Vanquisher. Probably nothing else.
