Most Recent Battle / Water War

Post by isoaker » Fri Mar 30, 2007 8:01 pm

In the same vein as the Latest Soaker thread, this thread simply asks for a brief report on your latest water fight! Though this type of thread is LONG overdue, better to start now than never. Hopefully, we'll have a little better record keeping and information sharing on our membership's local water warfare activity.

For me, while my latest outdoor waterfight was in the Summer of 2006, my latest mini-watergun fight happened a couple of weeks ago indoors with my 'significant other' as my opponent. It was a battle involving XP215s, but make no mistake, it got pretty intense! :goofy:

My latest battle was in August 2006. It involved half the people we expected, but it was fun.

HOLY ****, THOSE ARE HUGE AMOUNTS OF PEOPLE!

Was your whole town in the water fight?! :oo:

Well, anyway, my last official battle was in August 2007. Our 2008 season starts in exactly one month from today.

Before Dreadnaught moves back to Georgia, I'm gonna organize a war, and we're gonna fight at Victory Park which is this huge park near me. We'll play 3 rounds of Soak The Flag, and after each one, re-inact it for a video camera so we can watch the fight over and over again, as well as show it to the soaker fanbase.

Yup, VP War One will be awesome!

It would be better if we could get more members. I know a couple people still, but I'm unsure if they could make it for training exercises and stuf like that. :|

First battle of the year for me. Click the links, then go to the address in your browser and hit enter, that should make the photos appear.

Lindsey attempted to cross me so I pulled out my 65 on her in the hall.

Jon didn't like this so much, so he drew his 240 in her defense.

We decided that if one of us should live we wanted to still be able to watch TV so we decided to take the fight outside and away from the electronics.

I think it's clear who won.

This is the first time I got to use my brand new XP 65. I was impressed with its performance for a light weapon that uses pressurized reservoir technology. It shoots out a thick stream that's somewhere around 2.5x. I definitely had the advantage in output, but I found myself running out of ammo quickly, so I had to take well aimed, bursts.

I honestly can't say if I had any range advantage, it seemed about equal. With that being said, I utilized the hills on the golf course to my advantage, and extended my arm out fully when I shot, this helped keep them at bay. With a smaller caliber/high capacity blaster your strategy in a soakfest should be to close the gap, pump, and shoot at the same time. That's what Lindsey tried to do, but I always backed off and held her at bay using my extended arm and the terrain to my advantage. I need to work on my accuracy using this method, but ultimately my strategy was successful.
