This thread is for feedback on Dux's "7th War of 2005" story.

While short, I thought it was a neat synopsis of the battle between Waterbridge and Ridgewood Militia (well, not both entire groups, but a selected subset of each).

That story also makes me a little envious in that some members have the priviledge of being not too far from others such that these more organized water war games can be held.

Got any pics from the event?

The longer version of that story has been at soakermedia for two month's, so really it's nothing new.

It's nothing new, but I realized that the Waterbridge-Ridgewood Militia war stories have not really been posted here. Those at SM have read them, but there are tons who haven't yet.

I may rewrite a few more stories, nothing longer than the 7th war though because I'm not the best at writing war stories. I'll start working backwards, since the details of the earlier wars this season have slipped a bit in my memory.

Sorry, we almost never are able to get pictures-we need every person we can get! The only known pictures from our wars are in the SSCentral gallery and are from 2004. Actually, from my first ever 1HK battle, when I was still part of Waterbridge!

Dux, my question for you is how much exposure of the actual stories you've posted at SM do you wish? I'd be more than happy to push up direct links to the story pages off of iSoaker.com if you'd like (or re-host the story or both, whichever you'd prefer). Presently, sadly, there are very few known active water warfare teams. Trying to spread the word on how groups have battled may help increase interest in more organized water warfare.

Skimmed through it. Sounded like a heck of a lot of fun. You guys can really throw a fight together.

I'll say more when time allows me to read more thoroughly, compose my thoughts more thoroughly, and write some of them down.

Promised I'd say a bit more when time was available, so here goes.

Looks like there are two lessons to be gleaned from this story:
1.Never hesitate.
2.Fight where you have the advantage, not the disadvantage, even if the difference is just choice of field.

I'd love to fight with you guys, even a simple soakfest. Your battlefield sounds amazing (dams and treehouses and dried up creeks oh my!), and it sounds like all of you know how to take advantage of that. Keep on soaking.

Adrian

Edit:Sorry I can't say more about the fight itself. The story was just sort of a summary, and I can't really comment on that.

Writing war stories isn't my forte, so expect most of them to be more like long summaries.

Oh, it doesn't matter, as I may rewrite them for inclusion on the SM site. Most were written right after the battles, so maybe now there has been more time to reflect on the details.
