I can't make it on the 22-24, I might be able to make it late on 24, but I don't know how long it takes to drive to NC. I have gone up around there, but I can't remember how long it took.

I'm down. Posted my availability on the Doodle. May be bringing friends. Definitely bringing launchers.

I would like to have a launcher centric battle on the peninsula. One team is on the peninsula, the other team is on the opposite 2 banks (the creek splits). Hopefully we can get 6 or more launchers. I want to build one too. In addition to that we will have hundreds of balloons to throw. I have the time to fill them.

I added down my availability. I didn't include the 23rd because I'd only be able to get there very late in the day. I am free every weekend before and after that, but NC is too far away for me to go there and come back in time, while actually staying long enough to fight, so I didn't add any of those days.

This war sounds like it could be really awesome though. I am working on repairing all my broken blasters so I'll have plenty of guns to bring (I'm also getting a few new ones). I would like to build a new homemade, but I don't think I can spare the $50+ needed to build what I have in mind.

I just got back from working on a trail. Hacking away with my machete. I am also scouting out 2 different locations for camping. The two teams will camp in separate locations. Rivalry battles will take place in evening. All battling will end at 2 am unless otherwise agreed upon. You must put out your camp fire if you leave your campsite unattended.

If I go, I'll bring a lantern. They are easy to light up, produce good heat, and also produce a lot of light.
I don't think I'll post my dates yet, it's hard to know whats going on this far in advance. All I know is I can't make it on the third weekend of March, and I can't make it on the 23, either.

I was out in the woods today working on the battlefield and decided on a few things. We will be playing a lot of new games but also a lot of long hardcore games. The new games will be very fast paced, very much like capture the flag. The new fast paced games will be objective oriented and there will be a certain degree of randomness to some of them. This will encourage people to think and act quick. We will start off with a rivalry battle - but it will be unlike anyone any of us have ever played before. I can't wait.

I'm not sure about the night battles ending at about 2 am. You will have a VERY hard time getting me up in the morning. Maybe you could :supercannon: :goofy:
Maybe 1 or 12:30, even that's late.

The original plan was all night. 2 AM ensures that we won't be too tired to battle hard the next day. I'm bringing my water cannon, so people sleeping in won't be much of a concern...might drop a few frogs or snakes into it, with a 1" riot blast you'd be surprised what fits through.

At Downpour 2012 we were also planning for an all-nighter. If we weren't fighting the next day I would do it. Battling until 2:00 actually sounds like a great idea to me. I always have trouble sleeping in tents, and staying up that late will hopefully make me tired enough to sleep through the rest of the night. Fishfan, I find that you always seem to wake up earlier than usual. I normally don't wake up until 9:00 or 9:30 in the morning (one of the prices of being a teenager), but in a tent I usually wake up around 6:30 or 7:00 (my brothers do as well). Some of you tend to sleep a little longer though (DX and Scott, I'm looking at you). But that's okay; while I don't have a water cannon, I do have a Douchenator. With a 3" barrel, there's no telling what I can fit in there! *evil laugh*

M4: Sounds good. Fast-paced rounds are definitely my second favorite type of fighting. That is what I want Downpour to mostly consist of, though I also want to have one or two long rounds as well.

If you wake up earlier than everyone else you can fill waterballoons or cook breakfast :goofy:

:goofy: I didn't think of that, but you are right SEAL. If anything, I'll bring my Super-loud Alarm clock, and although I have trouble waking up in the morning with it, it is sure to wake everyone else. :goofy: And on a camp out, it will be easier to get up.

^I might be getting an air raid siren sometime soon. That would get everyone up in a hurry, haha. But since we don't want to wake up everyone within a mile of where we're camped out, I'll just load a beehive into the Douchenator.

My classes end on Friday the 22nd, but I looked at my schedule and I actually get out at 11:50 AM, so if we're going to go with the 23rd as the starting date, I can leave straight from my school and blast down to M4's house. I'll probably get there close to midnight, but I consider it to be worth it if it means doing more fighting. So I can do 23-25. I'll probably stay a little longer though, and battle with M4 and whoever else sticks around. I will ask Bailey about coming, but I'm still not sure if I should ask my cousins (who live around 2 hours away from M4's house) or not. They are younger than many of us, but I think they can hold their own. The main problem is getting them over, as they would need their parents to take them. If anyone on the board who lives in between NY and NC (atvan? Poseidon?) needs a ride, I'll probably have room for at least one person, or two if Bailey doesn't come.

I'm not sure about 23-25. The best time is during a week, after Tuesday. The weekend of the 16th I can't make and very, very, likely I won't be able to make it on the weekend of the 23, because that's the weekend of my bro's birthday.

I'll probably stick around for most of the week anyway, so even if you can't come earlier, you can still fight with me and my brothers, as well as M4 and whoever else sticks around. The war could last the entire week if enough people remain to fight (at least 6 would be good).

I really hope I can come! M4, do you know how much gas you need to drive from Florida to North Carolina and back on maybe, 25 mpg? I don't know how many miles it is to NC on road.

It took me a little over 2 tanks to get to Orlando, after calculations that would be about 34 gallons one way. I don't remember how much it was to Miami or Pensacola.

Just put in the directions at Google Maps and it will give you the total mileage for the route. (Total mileage of route x2) / total mileage of tank = # of times you need to fill it.

Not entirely sure if I will be able to make it anymore. I'll have to see if my situation improves. Don't change the dates though; I definitely won't be able to make it earlier than the 23rd.
