I mean, what else is there to say? :P Okay, we did get kicked off the battlefield by some cops (they were cool about it though) and had to go to a park, but it was still fun. We got to see some new faces, which is always great.

I might upload the pictures later today. As usual, I don't have many shots of us fighting (at least not in the more serious rounds).

Can't we ever have a war without rain?! Hydropocalypse was like the only war that actually had nice weather throughout the whole event. Frozen Fury wasn't too bad, but I think there was still a bit of rain/mist (there was certainly no sun).

And I'm guessing you guys aren't coming here. Edit: Nevermind.

Haha ^ that's funny.

I was hoping we/d have a league battle reports forum by now. My intent was to use this as a planning thread, lock it, then open a new post war subject. We may end up doing that later, but apparently we still need to decide on the league submission forum, if it fits in with our goals for the year. Isoaker, we should reopen that discussion.

Alright... WOW. This was probably the craziest war we have had to date. We ended up having to change the venue after a very very intense round this morning to open the rivalry series. I had my friend John Mark (Vermin War 2 host) set up boxes of blasters within 50 meters of a certain point at the very front of the battlefield. The rules were that you could not use your own guns, only whatever you got in your box. The battle began with a mad dash for the boxes. There were 8 boxes and 7 combatants. It was completely random, but our team ended up rather unlucky, opening up an XP 270 (CA99), XP 70, and an SS 100 (me) versus a Monster XL, Blazer, Power modded backpacked Arctic Blast, and XP 240. However, during the chaos I was able to score the first ever community war hit with a waterballoon. I smashed one into Scott from 5 feet away. We retreated into the woods and tried to hide out to plan an ambush, but once we saw that the enemy had left the area, and that Dux's 70 had a leaky pressure chamber we came back around to get that last box. It was a very precarious position, where DX actually had to climb up a tree to get the box - which turned out to be an XP 310.

We ran into contact in a super high grassy/thorn area and I was able to hold off the enemy while DX and CA99 made a run for it. We had done extensive scouting as a team, prior to this event, and it payed off. We agreed on a place to meet up at, and although it took me about 15 to 20 minutes of running from the enemy, including dodging a few waterballoons, I was able to escape and meet up with everyone.

It was at this point that I got a call from my dad that Drenchenator had arrived and that he was coming to the entrance of the battlefield. Unfortunately I did not have his phone # so we couldn't communicate with him directly, but with 30 minutes left, up 1 to 0 we decided to go back to get him. This is where everything went wrong.

We ran into an ambush between the forest and the road. It's difficult to explain, but the road is at a much higher elevation than the forest/battlefield, and we were walking on the grassy slope that basically was the "right of way." The enemy encountered us head on, and SEAL and Scott ran up over the road, which we couldn't see due to tall grass/shrubs, and flanked us from a higher elevation. We sensed what was happening but by the time we were moving back downhill to the forest it was too late, CA99 was taken out by the MXL.

They split DX and I up and at this point it was basically run for your life and try to meet up later. We were both able to successfully outrun the enemy, but I cracked my 100's barrel in the process of smashing through vines, thorns, etc. we lost CA99, and we had still not met up with Drenchenator.

I was afraid that they'd cut CA99 off and gang up on him, but that should have been the least of my concerns. After climbing up a giant Beech tree about 50-75 feet up and waiting out the last few minutes of the round I returned back to the front of the battlefield where everyone was. Upon return we still couldn't find Drenchenator or CA99. Then we heard a siren. Oh no...

I thought that someone had called the police to find Ca99 and Drench, but actually the lady in the house next to the battlefield was complaining about us. She said that we were playing on her land. That wasn't true, I made sure I knew where the borders were well before we fought, but I wasn't about to argue with the police. It turns out what set her off probably wasn't us fighting in the woods after all but the fact that she saw Drench... well I'll leave that for him to explain

Turns out Drench and CA99 had walked back to my house. My dad suggested that we move to Legend Park instead. That was an awesome idea. Legend Park was amazing. I will have to go into more details later, but I have the statsheets from each game right in front of me, so I'll go ahead and post the team scores.

Fixed. Please make your posts more readable next time.

Anyway, I'll post a war report when I'm done writing it. It'll go more in-depth on when the grumpy old show-stopper appeared since I was the one to talk to her first.

This event was awesome! Though when I have a war in DC we aren't starting anything till 9:00am, getting up at 7 really hurt my performance on Saturday. The other thing is that I don't really remember much from those battles, I was dead tired and running on adrenaline!

I think some of my favorite rounds were the first air pressure only round and the defending the house rounds. We have done so many defense rounds where we just had to charge a hill, it was nice to play one based more around use of cover and agility.

I might write a war report for this, but I doubt it, between running on adrenaline, from lack of sleep, during the battles. And staying up till 4am last night trying to do the homework needed for today, I really don't remember stuff too good. :P I would normally have done the work earlier (if only by a little bit), but the teacher didn't E-mail it to us until Thursday, and, lets face it, who is going to spend time writing papers during a water war? Anyway, I'm going to go to bed very soon tonight, so maybe with a bit more sleep I will remember a little more about the battles tomorrow.

My war report's almost done, just have a few more things to take care of. It's been written over the course of several days, so my state of mind and perception of the weekend will change accordingly. Sorry to keep it waiting.

Edit: I have some updates/additions to what Marauder listed. For example, I'm pretty sure no one on the SEALs had 21k's, only DX did. I also have not updated with my score on the last round yet.

Edit: War report's just nearly done. I need to go to sleep. The last two rounds of BBT-only OHS haven't been written yet, but are featured in my GoPro footage, so I won't forget what happened easily.

*bump*

It's posted!

http://hbww.wordpress.com/2013/03/28/wa ... ener-2013/

Other filler materials like videos, video stills, and photos will be arranged and uploaded accordingly. I may just compile a summary video instead, using what I have, and post that.

Plus, I got a ton of extra blasters today. HBWW 2013's gonna be a good season, even if I can't make the next community wars.

For the record, the enemy team in the soakfest was just as soaked as we were... As for the war, I think it was still a lot of fun despite all the issues that came up. Still, I feel like I'm partially to blame for all the time wasted. I think we could've got more fighting in if my team wasn't staying in the hotel. For that, I'm sorry. I'll try to make it up to everyone with Downpour. I'm already making plans for it, and it should be epic if everything turns out the way I'm hoping. Stay tuned for the official thread.

My favorite round was probably the first one that I participated in. It was very hardcore and intense, though I wish I could've had one of my blasters for it. A uncamoed Monster XL with a pressure leak is probably the #1 worst primary one can have in a round like that... I also liked the AP-only round. I have to say, that was the most challenging round I've ever played. Going up against SS 300s and Gorgons with lower end AP blasters is insanely difficult, even with my kick-ass MD 6000 (more on that later). But that's what I liked about it. I think that both rival teams were very evenly matched this war (as opposed to Frozen Fury), which made things more exciting. I'll try to write a battle report soon (along with pictures), though it will be more of a summary than a full-length report.

A big shout-out goes to marauder for hosting this and keeping things together even with all the complications, making this a war worth going to. And once again, I'm sorry for holding you guys up.

I don't blame you for the hotel, or at least most certainly for not wanting to camp in 40 degrees. I wouldn't have done it either. (Things would be different for a war I host since I'd never do it in the cold lol, less I have to wear that PVC rainsuit again and not be able to tell when I'm hit.)

I think everything worked out very well. Getting kicked out wasted our time, but it also meant I didn't have to run through all those thorns anymore. =p Plus, Legend Park was pretty sweet too.

Not sure what I'll do for Soakemore, maybe just haul all the footage online individually, editing only where necessary.
