Problem: There's a good chance I may not be able to make it anymore if we don't get others to join the trip. Will update if the situation improves.

While I'd love to join in on this, I am ~99.999999% sure I won't be able to. Nevertheless, I do desire to help out a bit and have an idea already underway. Sometime next month (July), I'll be needing SEAL's shipping address to send down a little 'care package' for the group who does manage to meet in August.

Hopefully all who said they can make it so far are able to and, of course, if there are other members here who might be able to join, I'd say go for it!

Looking forward to seeing how planning goes and how well this ends up working out in the end. Soak on!

Hi, I'm back. Did I miss anything?

iSoaker: Care Package? What would that be? Extra water blasters or something? You should already have my shipping address from when you sent me the Vanquisher I won in the poster contest.

By the way, I updated the first post with an attendence list, which should be edited if anything changes.

@SEAL: I purge addresses after things are shipped. Unlike companies and such, I don't track members and if I ever get hacked, no personal information can be found since there is none stored. I'll ask you later for a shipping address.

As for care package, I was thinking something along the lines of extra water. *HAH* :goofy: You'll be the first to see, anyhow. I plan to send things your way early next month. Hope you won't mind storing a couple of things until the actual battle date.

I would just like to point out that this war isn't all that far off (Only about 2 months.), so all who are coming should start to get prepared. For those who are staying overnight, there are hotels in the city of Kingston, and there are a few campgrounds around here that I know of. It's up to you to make reservations, so I trust you will be able to work something out.

Concerning the actual event, my mom said she would make sandwiches for everyone, so we should get a head count as soon as possible (Just update the attendance list in the first post or ask a mod to do it if you can't.). You guys should bring your own food too (We can eat out for dinner.). I believe I already made a list of supplies, something everybody should do if you haven't already.

I'd like to make this event as memorable as possible, but I need your help too.

If I can get things going again and actually attend, I'll be sure to bring as much as I possibly can. No one else wants to go though, so I have to see what I can do.

I've sent SEAL a request for shipping info; I want to ship him my lil' contribution to the Community Summer War sooner than later (so I don't need to rush shipping, but ensure it gets there before the actual event). Once it arrives, he can let you know what it contains. :goofy:

I don't care if it only ends up being like 6 people - haven't fought a good water war in 4 years so I'm coming regardless. I have family friends who live in Saugerties, so there might be a place to stay. Not sure how comfortable they'd be with...company...but we'll see.

If M4 sees this, I take back much of what I said on the last page. (Which I won't even go back to read right now.) I haven't played elimination with numerous players over a large area and shouldn't have passed judgement on it as I did. I say this because I just played some 5v4 elimination today and it was a blast; far more fun than trying to explain rules for an assault game and end up with no one actually playing. The downtime of when I was eliminated also gave me a chance to capture some video footage which I wouldn't have gotten the chance to had I been playing the whole time. I also got an awesome sneak-up kill today; first one I can remember for a long time.

I also apologize earlier if I came off as too assertive or annoying in making blasters/game suggestions. Again, I say this because today, I was more flexible with games and allowed players to make tweaks as they wanted to. I still think that bringing a Helix to the community war is a terrible idea, but that's just my opinion of it.

Anyway, I'm pretty disappointed that I might not be able to make it. I'll keep trying, but if I don't make it, I do look forwards to hearing how things go. Let me know on the nature of the rules, schedule, etc. that you guys end up agreeing on. I've made my suggestions and I hope they can help whether I make it or not. Even if it ends up being a 3v3, those can be fun, small scale games too.

I don't want to steer this too off-topic from the war already planned, but does anyone think they could make it to southeast Michigan sometime in the future? Then again, it might not be necessary, who knows yet. My friend is hoping to be able to schedule the road trip again next year so if we end up at NYC or DC, it might work out for us.

Don't worry about coming off as offensive. Enjoying the game is what matters. I just got back from California, didn't have internet while I was there. I hope everyone is still able to make it. I still only have me as a Yes on my side, but several maybes.

Edit: Things are bouncing back and forth again. -__- Earlier I was talking with my friend about planning it further and now he says we can't go again... In any case, whether we make it or not, can everyone here post if they'd be able to do this again next year? Or I'll just start a new thread for it.

^I think it will be hard for most people to commit more than a few months in advance. Maybe start another thread sometime next spring?

Well there's two areas of interest here: next year February and next year August. Not sure about Feb. yet but I have spring break then and can plan a trip down to Florida or something.

I think we will still have a good 10-20 people. It will be fun no matter what. We get to meet eachother and stuff. I propose that we have 1 air pressure only game, because you know the others will be CPS dominated. It would mix things up a bit.

Package is shipped off to SEAL; may be there by tomorrow evening with any luck (or the day after if there's a delay). Nothing too major, but hopefully will be fun to have on the day(s) of the summer water war!

Update: based on the tracking info, the package I sent should now be in SEAL's possession. Hopefully he will confirm its safe arrival and let the group know its contents soon.

Yes, it has arrived. It's contents are... (*Ahem* Drum roll please.) 8 WW Goblins! They shall be given out to all participants who are registered members of iSoaker and/or SSC, with any remaining blasters handed out to friends if they wish (We could have duels over who gets them.).

So yeah, it looks like we'll have plenty of sidearms to go 'round, and with so many of the same blasters, exciting duel possiblites open up. Thanks a lot iSoaker!

Oh by the way, 300th post! Oh yeah!

I figure, if I can't be there physically, I can be there in spirit, yet still offer something physical. :goofy:

@SEAL: if you would, please take a pic of the contents of the package; might get others interested

In general, WW Goblins were the easiest to come by. I was hoping to be able to send some stuff from the Ultimate line, but I couldn't get enough of any single model and wanted to be fair in terms of what participants would get.

At any rate, 'tis still ~1 month away, but definitely looking forward to updates and hearing about how this event all works out!

I don't think I can do that, since I doubt I'll be able to get my hands on a camera. Sorry, but I'll see what happens. For now, just picture 8 of these. :goofy:
