Post by DX » Mon Oct 07, 2013 9:08 pm

Brainstorming thread for naming that huge factory complex we found for Frozen Fury.

Idea list so far:

Soakerdom
Soakerplex
Water World
Machu Soakku
Fear Factory
Aquashock Arena
Rusted Rampage
Flash Flood Factory
Hydrodome
Max-D Mill
Decimation Depot

I think names are best based off of their natural environments and or things that happen there. For instance, we spent all that time trying to think of an epic name for Saint John's Woods, but it ended up being Saint John's Woods by default, and it fits completely.

Hydrodome and Fear Factory are the ones I like most.

I think Fear Factory is sticking quite well, so I simply referred to it as that in the other thread.

I dunno; I cringe whenever I hear "Fear Factory". It just sounds too cheesy to me; it's a name I'd imagine a little kid to come up with. That's not to say the other suggestions (including mine below) aren't cheesy either, but for some reason that one doesn't work for me.

Here are some more ideas:

Abandoned Arena
Airborne Water and Spray Paint Co.
Cap-in-yo'-ass Complex
Drench Depot
El Dorado
Headshot Manufacturing Inc. (get it, 'cause the factory used to make hats...)
House of Hobos
Hudson Hideaway
Location for MC Scott's Next Music Video
Lost Coliseum
Soaked Concrete
The G-Spot
The Skate 'n' Soak
The Soaker Cloggers
Vandalism Venue
1 Entrance
~Hotel Oscar Golf~

We probably won't be back, but the legacy lives on.

Win! I this one the best! Now that I think about it it reminds me quite a bit of the level in BF 1942.

Needs to sound more cheesy. "Soakingrad".

lol, Scott has 666 posts. *cue Iron Maiden song

Anyway, if you guys want the name to stick, you'd better use it. Unfortunately, the one that makes SEAL cringe has already been in use.

Stalingrad? Wasn't that a city in Russia? I don't see the connection.

After WWII went through it looked about like the factory, everything broken with debris everywhere. At least that's how it is in video games, they might not be perfectly accurate but I doubt it looked very good.

I like how many in this thread get all their knowledge of history from games. Although you do learn a decent bit from CoD2.

The battle of Stalingrad took place during an unexpected Russian winter that happens about once a century. (The previous Russian winter stopped Napoleon.) Well, it is Frozen Fury after all.

Much of the history I know is from video games, more Battlefield then CoD though. By Frozen Fury I will know a lot more though, I'm taking a class called Modern Military History. It is the history of the world without all the boring stuff! We get to watch a lot of clips from movies too, which makes me want to watch the whole thing, but that is what Netflix is for.

Back on the names topic, I like Flood Factory, for added alliterative appeal.
