It's That Time of Year Again...
Last Thursday, I delivered a "wake-up call" to Belisaurius, in the form of a spreadsheet detailing stats on every water war we have ever fought. The numbers are quite interesting. With the right conditions, the RM won 94.5% of the time. Being outnumbered produced an RM victory 80% of the time, even teams produced 100%, and outnumbering was only 56%. Since Waterbridge did not win a war in 2006, the chance of RM victory when it scored 5 points or more was 100%. The most glaring stat was that we outscored Waterbridge a good 86.5 total points to 46.5.
Well, obviously Belisaurius doesn't exactly like numbers such as those, so it kind of spurred him to action. 4 people were drafted on Friday, with 9 added to claims lists. A funny thing happened in that when Belisaurius put two Wills on his list, I countered by adding two Wills of my own to my list. There are actually a lot of repeating names. Waterbridge has something like 4 Andrews and Matts.
Anyway, here we go again! The preseason hype is about a month early this year and already fierce. I'm working on staying modest, though it's very difficult after taking a look at the stats. Horace 2.10 [The Golden Mean] is now the official poem of the RM for that reason.

Always good to start early. Hope to see lots of battle reports and new tactics! We just bought 15,000 water balloons, and have had a small war already with 2 more scheduled wars. Also tested out a new control point system, will post when I have time.

^How did you get so many?
Anyways, glad to see some action. I'm doing the same thing, trying to plan an opening war for starting the season. Before I do that, I'll probably host some smaller fights for testing concepts, game modes, ideas, weapons, tactics, etc. Homemade progress should accelerate during the break, and as soon as the cold and snow is gone I can glue them together. (better garage than basement for that) Since I don't do formal teams, I will do my usual invititations to as many people as I can.

You can get bulk orders of bio-degradable balloons from here:

I bought a bunch from here a year ago and I'm still working through them.

Just letting y'all know, there have been only 18 posts in "Water War" since April 21st. How many have been in "The Armory: Stock Talk" in the same time period? 315.

Perhaps part of this might be because some people (me at least) don't post threads a lot. I usually just post around in what's around and didn't get much discussion in the battle report I posted earlier. Hmm... Either way, I'll probably start posting more threads (in general) if I can get a topic that hasn't been discussed before, have to see...
You've got a good point though, winter was the time for guns, now is the time for war. Even if though issue has been brought up before, it's been one that's ongoing.

Heavy artillery + high ground = an easy battle.
Why else would they call me Leviathan?
"Artillery batteries, prepare to fire. XLs, dual aquastorm. Balloons, quick burst, short range. Battery commanders, FIRE AT WILL!"
