Well, I'll give you a nod for creatively using smileys to denote a particular battle formation, but the length of the post does not make it an article-length tips & tactics post.

I think one of the flaws of this formation is that water balloons could be used to rain down on the people back to back and they wouldn't be able to spread out and avoid it. Also, the people in the center are cut off from supplies and the attackers are not. Even without water balloons, some high trajectory fire from the attackers could force the people in the center to move in order to not be hit, and in moving not to be hit to be hit by the people firing straight on.

It's never a good idea to concentrate your forces or get backed into a situation where you have enemies on all sides. You should always have an escape route or three if possible. If you've gotten to a point where you have to fight defensively back to back - you're in duck soup.

Having cover and escape routes is far better than havin a buddy to your back, because escape routes don't run out of water, and cover such as trees don't dodge and let you take all the hits. And for the last time, cut it out with the smileys!

That tactic has only been used effectively once in military history, or at least that I can think of. In water warfare, going back to back takes away your ability to move and dodge. You actually probably have a better chance fighting with your back against a wall.
