We had a thread about fortifications oN WWN back in the winter and there were many suggestions about how to construct the most effective and easy to build fortifications. Now I'd like to bring back those suggestions the new members a chance to post their ideas.
The Premise: Unlike in real warfare, large permanent fortifications aren't built in water warfare. Much of the cover used in water wars are pre-existing structures and natural obstructions. However, bases often need protection from an assault with fortifications that can easily be built and taken down before and after a water war. They should also be easy to put back together or repair in the heat of a battle. Many of these fortifications can be incorporated into existing structures or the geogrpahy of the area. Static defense, such as water balloons as mines are also used as fortifications. How would you construct fortifications for your base?

Hmmm, I was thinking something like a plastic tub filled with 2x4's {pointed at one end}, some rope, and one or two hammers, you drive the pointy part of the 2x4's into the ground with the hammer, then tie rope aroune it, maby. It would time to put up, but its moble.

So your saying a MOBILE plastic bathtub? Don't know if they make them.

I use beach umbrellas, cardboard boxes covered in garbage bags, tarps (sometimes tied to trees as a roof or 'tent', and large sheets of wood. It would also be great to have some motion sensing sprinklers as an automated defense system, but I'm not about to buy any. Stream machines, supercharging guns, and any guns with a fanblast are great weapons for base defence. Try to build your base on an elevated area.

i dident mean a bathtub, just a large, plastic tub.

Ok...
...I'm equiped with an observation tower. It makes a great fortification, as well as a communication HQ. I'll get some pictures of it soon.

I have 2 ways of fortification. My basement acts as our main Headquarters. Inside you will find:
- Complete Workshop full of Basic Tools to do repairs on soakers
- A Bathroom with plumbing and sink
- A Big Screen TV
- DVD Player
- Playstation 2
- Full Gym Area
- Pool Table
- Air Hockey
- Fridge
- 3 telephones (dad going through mid-life crisis, lol)
And I’m not lying. Will post pics if requested. Base can be securely locked and dead-bolted with 2 keys, complete with a motion sensor alarm system.
As for a more mobile base, a tent packed in our Team Kit with essentials for on the go. Since the windows do not have zippers, we must install the rainfly. Tripwires for alarms are good to, and we could set up cardboard as extra fortification. Setup takes about 5-10 minutes, and tent will hold 4 soldiers + soakers and storage.

Uh.....Veteran, you wouldn't happen to be talking about your house,would you? 
Otherwise, a two story fortification sounds very effective, provided that it's completely sealed so no water can get in.

In almost all of my battles, the only fortifications have been preexisting objects. For example, I have a fence my deck which basically makes it a fortress with small holes to fire out of. At Commander Roo's house, there is a long line of hedges at the top of a hill in his front yard (really big), which works just as well. The one time I tried to setup my own fortifications was with poster boards and that didn't go so well.

No, its nore like a modified clubhouse, but its bigger and has two stories. I used plastic cardboard to seal the widows and doors when they shut.

Is it in the back of your yard or somewhere else? Also, what are the dimensions of the fortress? I wonder if a large shed from Home Depot could be a fortress...

A shed might work, but most don't have opening windows so to be able to shoot out you would have to half barricade the door, or make a wall going around the shed as perimeter defence

I think both floors are 2.5meters x 2.5meters x 2meters. (each floor not together) The total size would be 5m x 5m x 4m

That seems to be around the size of the shed in my yard. However, my shed is permanent and isn't exactly a good design for a water war. The only window is on the door and even when it's open, it has bad lighting and is filled with tools and supplies. Is that fortress mobile or permanent?

if you can take it off to re-fill, stream macheans to me = bace turret, same with superchargeing guns.

Sniper, you could simply have the resevoir attached via hose to the stream machine.
