Re: HOG

August for me is generally clear, but I can't do the first weekend in August. I like June (it's far less hot), but do what the most people are able to attend. Make sure to take notes from that past Soakemore when it was 96 and people gave out very quickly. The mission objectives should be hardcore, ...

Re: 2017 Nerf Super Soakers

I have a broken/burnt out Thunderstorm that you can destroy on camera, but remind me again when Soakemore gets closer.

Re: MOAB 2016 (Official Thread)

So, I caught one hell of a flu and was down for two weeks. Feeling much better now, with a voice again and all. I want to thank Marauder for hosting us and Tiff for making breakfast and juice. I loved the battlefield, although we didn't go as far down as I would have liked. There was a lot of intere...

Re: MOAB 2016 (Official Thread)

You can feel young again without needing to drink cat piss :) Drink good beer. It's not necessarily expensive and it tastes great. My suggestion to Ben was to see what Clayton's breweries have to offer, try something new and local. IMO, beer would be a better choice than moonshine. Easy way to get a...

Re: MOAB 2016 (Official Thread)

Thurs just makes more sense all-around, we could definitely do stuff with Scott. David would be coming with us, I bet he has quite a few working soakers as well. I'm interested in getting some DSLR footage in the labyrinth or wherever else we decide to play at. Honestly, I don't really care about th...

Re: 2017 Nerf Super Soakers

I have pretty much stopped caring at this point. I'll be interested in seeing what Buzz Bee puts out, but that's it.

Re: MOAB 2016 (Official Thread)

We may want to take Scott up on that offer...Clayton is around 10 hours from here, and that's if you get lucky/do it right. David also wants to come. Scott left his Space Shuttle here, so I can test that to see if it works. I think I have a working 1200, 1000, 3/4 working 2000, working 150s, and the...

Re: MOAB 2016 (Official Thread)

@Seal: I need to get more info on the Thursday war, but my gut feeling it it's probably not a full day, not even half day, and therefore could just be skipped. Leaving from here on Friday morning makes more sense. @Marauder: Is there anywhere in the playing area where freshwater mussels can be found...

Re: MOAB 2016 (Official Thread)

There's actually quite a few options concerning what to do about those pesky narf wars. There's two events, the one on Thursday is an indoor war at what used to be Grid Code (same airsoft arena, new management). The other is Yolostock on Friday and Saturday morning. The options include: 1. Go to the...

Re: MOAB 2016 (Official Thread)

I really want to make this, but it is a logistical nightmare without a working car. I took a closer look at the public transit options and there are a lot of gotchas. Those prices are only one way, the cheap Amtrak tickets on all trains are already gone, and the $55 bus departures are at really whac...

Re: Frozen Fury/or other War

Make sure that you've read your state's rules on write-in eligibility. In some states, you can write in any name at all, in others, the name must be someone who has registered their candidacy with the secretary of state (and for whatever reason does not appear on the ballot). In a state that require...

Re: Frozen Fury/or other War

Camping would be more doable, though weather is a concern. I've actually never camped in the snow before. Are people actually prepared for winter camping conditions? You've got a low temp rated sleeping bag (my 20 degree bag does not cut it), low profile tent, high boots, etc.? If not, we should pr...

Re: Frozen Fury/or other War

So, the long range forecast is for a cold winter. Tomorrow night will be our first frost if not freeze, so it's already coming and it's only mid-October. We can still go to like Maine, NH, upstate NY or wherever, but I have a feeling that it'll be full-on winter up there by early Jan. Keep in mind t...

I'm on Discord much of the day. Discord has swept away Skype in most circles, it's amazing how fast that transition happened.

Re: Frozen Fury/or other War

I would come down to MD, but I'm not sure how long I'd be able to stay. The weather would be much more favorable, but it would cost substantially more. I have wild swings in income and no more savings, so we'll see what happens by December.

Re: Frozen Fury/or other War

^ This really depends on what kind of winter starts trending. WBLs and cannons made of 3" or larger PVC should not be used in lower temperatures. The average *high* temp in Connecticut in December is around 40-42 degrees - that's already too low for repeated operation of those things, imo. My person...
