Re: New Linear Flow Valve

As shown in the pictures and the video, the valve is already spring loaded; you just have to use a properly sealing cylinder and a pulley system to open the valve. I ran out of time last summer to finish it, so I didn't do that. In this system would not be too difficult to buy provided that you have...

Re: What makes a great water gun / water blaster?

This depends on the type of game, though a good gun would be able to handle all game types. A good gun would be comfortable, have high capacity and a nozzle selector. The nozzle selector is the real key--you can get specifically what kind of performance you need on the fly. A good nozzle selector sh...

I must admit--those are some awesome pictures! They really show a lot about what happens the moment before impact.

The nozzle may look big, but that pump just looks tiny. I am surprised that it has the styling of a real gun. It has sight for one thing, something that I don't think many (or any) soakers have had in the past.

Wow, those really do look like real guns! There is no way those would sell today. If anyone walked outside with one they might get in big trouble.

Nerf does have a certain advantage over us: they can play almost year-round. Our ammo is free though.

Aqua-Nexus has a "photo" of the XP 300. I use the term "photo" loosely because it so low-quality that we can only tell that it is a like an SS 300 with different colors. Isoaker has a scan from a box of it. Either way, the XP 300 is the most elusive soaker out there. Since it's not on your list, yo...

I remember getting in trouble for similar drawings during Art class in elementary school. They told me that it was "unacceptable" and that I shouldn't do it again and what not. This case really went overboard on the punishment. A suspension for a drawing? The kid didn't really even do anything.

If shelf space prevents larger guns, then how the **** do you explain the LONGSHOT? I agree completely. The Longshot is almost as large as my Nerf homemade, which is quite long itself. I remember my little brother bought the Longshot just because "it's so big." Size sells. I would personally like t...

Looks great! I'm surprised I didn't notice this launcher before. The setup is very clean. The second chamber and the breech definitely let this launcher perform better in battle. I do have some questions. What diameter is the barrel? What are the launcher's dimensions and weight? It looks like an o...

The only real problem with the SS300 is its fragility. It has great stats, but I always feel like I'm going to break it. The firing valve is usable but different to say the least. I was always partial to my CPS 1200, so I have never used my SS 300 in battle. It is nice to shoot every once in a whil...

I bought one new in box off eBay in early 2005. It is a great soaker. As the box said, it can shoot 50 feet. Using it is similar to using an APH: both guns do not have a trigger and have large pressure chambers. The gun is very light when empty though. In addition, the pump volume is very high to c...

It may be that the solenoid works better on larger launchers, or requires a longer barrel. The WBL I'm testing it on is a slightly scaled down one. Something may be wrong. From what I know some sprinkler valves don't work pneumatically because they have a guide rod (read more here ). Some solenoids...

I'm sort of curious how well this thing behaves if the hole through the cylinder were shaped and used pretty much as the nozzle of the water blaster. That's quite a novel idea. I suppose it would work. Builders could then use a tees instead of a crosses. However, I designed this valve to be interna...

I posted about this at SSC but since WaterWolf and iSoaker discussed this here I though I might was well post a compilation of posts at SSC. Drenchenator has been working on a type of pull valve with mixed results. It's not at all like what I described and is a completely new valve design. It needs...

I don't quite recommend using Drenchenator's trigger unless you're willing to make changes to it. Use of the cylinder as the moving shaft is not good as it can rotate; it also is more limiting regarding how large a hole can be drilled to allow water to flow through. If a cylinder is going to be use...

The largest diameter pipe used for both water cannons and water balloon launchers is 4"; 6" just isn't common or cheap enough. Ben's SuperCannon II shot 73 feet. The best water balloon launchers shoot over 500 feet.

Actually, while Ben and I were testing SuperCAP, I was accidently hit on my right thigh from the blast while trying to take a photograph (the photo was completely off target though because I was knocked back). This was an unregulated and very powerful shot, and the recoil spun Ben around (which in ...
