Yep, take some pictures and describe everything - most broken guns are fixable. For cracks in the tubing, use epoxy glue and clamp the parts together. Duct tape serves as a decent clamp of sorts and might help hold the parts together. Once all the cracks are sorted out, pump up the gun with the int...

The Flash Flood really had range like that? Wow, that's neat...I'll try to see if I can test somebody's FF out. The Max-D trigger repair I've done sounds like what CA-99 is saying. I guess it's just an open trigger valve repair, although earlier I thought a different problem might have been more co...

Yup, just like the Flash Flood and all water guns, the range of the HydroBlitz would probably increase quite a bit with a 5X-10X nozzle. Medium nozzles *can* offer a slight increase in velocity, and wind resistance isn't as influential.

The Orca ($20) is a great gun. We've had a couple reports of triggers needing repair, but the rest have all been fine. It's large, well-balanced, and has good range.

The Tiger Shark ($15) is a bit smaller and cheaper, but might have some ergonomics issues.

Nice review. I get the impression the Tarantula is more of a dual-wielding or backup weapon than a primary weapon, which would be fine.

No need to freak out. I'm sure BBT didn't intend for this to happen, and it seems not all of the guns have the problem. Just try the repair again. Look for a way to disconnect the wiring - they must have connected it with the case half open. Perhaps revealing the batteries would show some parts tha...

That's 86 degrees Fahrenheit, right? Didn't realize it was that hot!

It's starting to warm up here too. I should be free enough next weekend to have a water war. Don't need to study too much for the AP exams and SOLs.

Do an open trigger valve repair.

I suspected the gun would be likely to have this problem early on - the trigger was very easy to pull. Good for tap-shooting, but bad in terms of reliability.

EDIT: This should be in the repairs section. ;)

Neat observation. Looking at the images of the PRV section, it looks like there are two pairs of check valves along with the PRV.

Good point about the mod potential, too.
