Re: 2018 Water Warriors/BBT Blasters
They don't need any more participants and their battles are the most boring of all wargames. Have you seen/played tournament-style paintball though? They didn't even have any Super Soakers, let alone BBT or Stream Machine. There was some kind of generic brand that actually looked like pressur...

Re: Most important stat for gameplay
I have a wrench to throw in here: Effective range. Effective range is a combination of both the range in which the stream stays laminar, and the velocity of the stream. It's the area where dodging a stream becomes progressively more and more difficult, and is the range where hits are most difficult ...

Re: HBWW Downsizing!
Most likely the leaks are from the pull valves, cracks, and/or stuff like reservoir O-rings. I may slash the prices down since many of them don't look very repairable but I'll have to test first.
I'll have to ask Scott if there's any updates on Soakemore this year lol.

http://i.imgur.com/FvSa3YQl.jpg Everything pictured is for sale, and I also have some items not pictured (tons of Max-D's in various color schemes, especially 3000's and 6000's). Name a price, they'll run from somewhat cheap to dirt cheap plus shipping. (Or free shipping to a war if I end up travel...

Re: Meet Ups in VA and MD
I am going to be in Herdon, VA around the time frame of Jan 7-14 to attend Awesome Games Done Quick. I'm still working out a lot of details, but will likely be looking to wring together a Nerf/water war or see if Scott or whoever else can host. The logistics will take some time to work out.

Re: CPS 2500 Screw Size
The screws should be #2, but I'm not sure which thread, usually something coarse. (So perhaps #2-24 or #2-28; don't know.) Unfortunately, these screws can't be easily found in hardware stores and may have to be ordered on eBay or Amazon. You may want to measure the length of the screws you already h...

Re: Maintenance is essential now more than ever!
The most common issue now is that gaskets and seals are rotting. Things aren't going to end well, as the means to make useful and meaningful repairs are just out of reach for the most part.

Edit: Someone PM me the address, please.

^ Hope you get better soon!
There's a small chance I'll have a +1 if I do end up going. Wil from Nerf, who Rob also knows. Scott and Ben, would either or both of you be okay with him sticking around?

Re: MOAB 2016 (Official Thread)
I'm still a maybe and won't know until rather late. (Really depends on how much I feel like driving more and more.) If I do go, I'll have no more than a 2500, 10k, Gargantua, MD2k, and a few water containers.

Re: If Water Warfare was a Professional Sport
Swappable parts are good for if something breaks, but I'd think that a true sporting blaster would be completely optimized from the factory, and not need upgrades. That's how I envisioned it for my fictional universe as well. Mods are basically non-existent; the closest thing to it would be orderin...

Re: If Water Warfare was a Professional Sport
If we're talking high end soakers (related to the topic), there's a lot to do before getting things like carbon fiber shells lol. I think we'd have modularity taken to an extreme end, using a lot of standard threads and components that are only specialized to the sport/hobby for miniaturization. Thi...

Re: Frozen Fury/or other War
I have a CPH and APH, although the CPH is currently disassembled for whatever reasons. (I think I was borrowing the bladder to test some nerf stuff.) There's also the LPD which should be working in theory but has weird issues I can't figure out. This is the LPD that I got from SSCBen from the review...

Re: Frozen Fury/or other War
I expect a busy winter as well. I'll probably be taking a week off in addition to the week the office is closed. I started this year with some east coast adventuring and that's how it'll end! Frozen Fury will likely be accompanied by some nerf as well, and we sometimes drag the SEALs along. It's sti...

Re: Meet Ups in VA and MD
Checked bags are expensive, but there shouldn't be problems getting blasters through. (At least you'd think so, considering firearms are permitted.) Still, Rob's in no condition to fly. I may be available for a MD/VA meetup during Thanksgiving week or sometime nearby. There's a nerf event near Phill...

Re: Layering LRT & Inner Tubing
For some reason, I don't think this issue was ever properly documented or addressed. I ended up cutting both tubes to the same length and having them share clamps and that worked. (I used LRT for both layers though.)

Trigger Repair
There aren't many decent resources for this common issue, so here's one. Tools/Materials: Small cutters, metal plating, epoxy. Procedure: Measure out the metal plating you need to cut to get good coverage on the part. Cut this out twice. Use the two pieces, one on each side. Do not use only a single...
