Re: Adventure Force Super Storm - Walmart CPS
TheSoaker makes a good point. This is not a molded product like in the Super Soakers. That texture is indicative of a mandrel-made hose. Natural gum rubber usually comes in tan or red, but black might be available in China. Butyl, EPDM, and SBR are possibilities, but these hoses usually have wire or...

Re: Adventure Force Super Storm - Walmart CPS
Thanks for sharing, Buff. I was curious about these when I saw them at Walmart last week. By the way, nice blog, dude. Clear and concise. You should post here more often when you have applicable news on your site. Don't wait another 3 years to let us know what you're up to. :-D Have you communicated...

I just figured you would attach it to her parents' car while they watch one of her basketball games.

Re: Assassins School Game
Tiles should be in stock at your local Best Buy. Home Depot and Lowes should have the tape (Walmart might have it, too).

Re: Assassins School Game
Nem, can you plant a Tile up under/inside the bumper (near a wheel well) of the car your target rides the most? I can't guarantee the car's metal will not throw it off, but it's worth a try because they are not terribly expensive. Mounting with 3M Outdoor Double-Sided Tape would be best. Although th...

Re: New Linear Flow Valve
Drench - That's cool; I understand. I just felt you deserved the first right of refusal because of your work in this area. UPDATE: Below is the most up-to-date version of the valve body half. Although it lacks the binding post holes and other improvements, it shows the plastic I intend to leave out ...

Re: Assassins School Game
Have you tried holding your target's mom at knife-point? Seriously though, the car-blocking standoff has always been the most effective trick. So, keep using it! However, don't let it be effective against you. I have been in situations (not an assassins game) where people have tried to block my car....

Why not build one yourself?

Re: New Linear Flow Valve
Hey Drench, I finally got around to assembling the valve. Although it may not be apparent in the video, this was quite a hack job. I had worse clearance issues than I anticipated, even with the thickness of the gate. To make the clearance adjustable, I had to cut the valve body in half and bolt the ...

Re: Life Straw
Hi marauder, That does look pretty cool. How would you use it to fill a water blaster? Would you have to suck the water into your mouth and spit it into the reservoir? Some similar products on Amazon have a little pump instead of using your mouth suction. Has refilling from natural water sources cau...

Re: Protection and Shielding
Hi Ben, Perhaps the lack of response stems from a lack of confidence that this would ever come to life? If you are able to make something rudamentary, I beleive this would generate much interest. You are a legend because of what you've done rather than what you've merely proposed. I guess my point i...

Re: MOAB 2016 (Official Thread)
Scott, I realize I am likely out of line interjecting here, but... This sounds very ungrateful to me. Why would you expect marauder to feed ~9 people on his dime? He didn't invite you to lunch; he invited you to an event. People traveled great distances to make it to marauder's house, but not all co...

Re: Accumulator tanks as pressure chambers
UPDATE: I contacted SPX Flow Technology in Sweden (owner of the Johnson Pump brand) regarding the connection on their 2L (half-gallon) accumulator tank . Cecilia Trumbäck informed me that “The metal connection going into the tee is 3/4” and BSP.” Since my last post, I found several other water accum...

Re: New Linear Flow Valve
Thank you for the encouragement, Drench. Below are some further clarifications in response to your comments. “1) The seals are minimal but also redundant.” Actually, only one of the four seals is redundant. Both of the larger seals are needed to prevent leakage through the top and bottom of the valv...

Re: New Linear Flow Valve
Hi Drench, Yes; that is my design. A few months ago, I said I'd be building a CPH in January (I should have said I’d start in January). As you may recall, the ball valve actuation mechanism I proposed was questionable, and to have any chance of working, I was planning on a 3/4” valve with a 5/8” por...

Re: Accumulator tanks as pressure chambers
Hi Ben, Nearly every racecar, plane, and heavy equipment tire is filled with nitrogen rather than regular air. There are several benefits of using nitrogen. However, for our purposes, the benefits are likely negligible. I was just thinking that if you have easy enough access to it, go with nitrogen....
Re: POPCAP
Hi Ben, Are you going to try to implement this "air sheath" idea in your next build? How will you construct such a nozzle? Would you employ a local machine shop? Do you think that exhaust from the pinch valve will provide a high enough volume of air for this feature? Are you thinking it might be eno...
