Re: Semi homemade CPS with pieces from a XSHOT blaster

How much range would you get with just one layer I'd guess you'd see a range of around 35 feet, maybe low 40s. It's hard to know without testing, though. I could get about 42 feet with a single tube in this basic homemade water gun . You could experiment with larger nozzle sizes and two layers, but...

Re: Semi homemade CPS with pieces from a XSHOT blaster

I’ll be using two layers of LRT with the outer one having the ID that matches the OD of the inner layer from McMaster You'll have a lot of trouble getting the outer tube over the inner tube if the ID matches the OD. The ID of the outer tube should be a bit larger. Also, because the nozzle is so sma...

Re: Super soaker CPS 2000 mk2

You've probably already checked this, but I'd see if there's more space closer to the pump outlet side on the left. I'd guess there's a spot with a bit more space, or a spot where you can cut away at the case a bit to get enough space. As for finding other check valves, I assume that you're in the U...

Re: Super soaker CPS 2000 mk2

Could be the pump outlet check valve leaking, as you've figured. You could measure the size of the tubing leading from the pump and add a new check valve with barbed fittings on there. Here are some examples: https://www.mcmaster.com/check-valves/check-valves-with-barbed-fittings-9/ I don't know the...

Re: Crazy trigger valve idea

If you're intent on using the same nozzle, then you should consider a smaller non-ball type valve. Ball valves are good for their high flow rate and low turbulence, but you're going to have a difficult time getting a ball valve to work given the limited space. And using a smaller valve would probabl...

Re: Crazy trigger valve idea

If you're dedicated to converting this blaster to have a trigger and separate pressure chamber, I can provide advice. However, my main advice is that modifying this blaster in that way is not worth the effort, as I said earlier. It's going to be a lot of effort, so much that I think building a prope...

Re: Crazy trigger valve idea

A pressurized reservoir would be dangerous here. The existing reservoir is not designed to hold pressure and could explode if pressurized. Do not pressurize the reservoir. The internals are more spacious than I anticipated, and the pump does not seem particularly wide, so this may be a better candid...

Re: Crazy trigger valve idea

Converting pump action water guns to separate pressure chamber is possible, but you probably won't be happy with the result. I actually did such an upgrade with a Super Soaker Vaporizer over a decade ago. It didn't use a real trigger, though, just a ball valve. I used the piston as a pump, which did...

Re: Crazy trigger valve idea

Welcome to WWN! This sort of setup is not crazy at all. It's called a "rack and pinion": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rack_and_pinion You can buy them on McMaster-Carr: https://www.mcmaster.com/gear-racks/ I don't think it has been used for water guns, but it should work. The trigger pull might be ...

Re: Water guns that can be fired angled up or down

CPS blasters use a rubber bladder, which allows for shots at any angle. The most powerful CPS blaster on the market today is by Spyra: https://spyra.com/ It's expensive and I don't think it would be particularly good for spraying a dog as it only shoots bursts of water. But I could be wrong about th...

Re: Super soaker CPS 2000 mk2 modifications

I think the bladders in the CPS 2000 mk1, CPS 2000 mk2, and CPS 2500 are interchangeable. Here's an old website where someone put a CPS 2000 mk1 bladder in a CPS 2500, but wasn't entirely happy with the results: https://web.archive.org/web/20050325145140/http://www.toothpickmatt.netfirms.com/SS/m_an...

Re: Super Soaker 3000

Okay, so it's the backpack side. Then the procedure is going to be similar: Get a barbed quick-connect fitting for the backpack side and attach it. That's easy enough. The hard part is going to be the blaster side. You're going to have to figure out some way to attach the other end of the quick-conn...

Re: Super Soaker 3000

Hi, welcome to WWN! Which connection specifically broke off? A photo would help. I'm assuming that it's the water gun side connection that broke off including the valve. I've seen someone replace that with a bayonet fitting: http://www.sscentral.org/repairs/hose_fitting.html Most any sort of quick-c...

Re: The prices on old super soakers lately have been absurd.

Given these prices, I'm thinking about trying to sell some homemade water guns on eBay now to see if they might be a good source of side income. If I take my old CPH design then I could advertise it as having longer range than a CPS 2000. Though the lack of a built-in reservoir may be a turn-off for...

Re: The prices on old super soakers lately have been absurd.

This could indicate high demand for larger water blasters, contrary to what we've been told over the years about the larger blasters being hard to sell. I recall a problem back then was shelf space, which isn't that big of a problem now that we can buy things online. I'd be interested in hearing why...

Lonnie said it was going to be as strong as the 2500 however, he said there was something wrong with the seals that made it rather weak. I just learned this yesterday as well.
Interesting, I haven't heard this before. Where did you see it?

Re: MXL review.

Wow, the Monster XL is extremely expensive. $200-$400 these days! The Monster XL was fairly disappointing range-wise, and it's not clear to me why. Larami had the technical ability to make something as powerful as the CPS 2000 but since the CPS 2000 was discontinued, they never did again. I don't th...

iSoaker has a guide on the care of water blasters: http://www.isoaker.com/Tech/cleaning.php As for statistics, I haven't seen any independent statistics for Spyra's blasters but you may find some by searching online. iSoaker has statistics for the CPS 2000: http://www.isoaker.com/Armoury/Analysis/19...
