To get through school. Seriously, I don't have time for anything...given that I do both band and Cross Country, I'm at school from 7:45 AM to 5:45 PM, with tons of homework to do and band/cross-country/perhaps even debate events very often. I'm in a mess, and I'll probably have to drop something. M...

Hasn't it been compared to or possibly designed after a shotgun in Terminator 2 (which I haven't seen, so I wouldn't know)? What's far more interesting to me is the fact that they had an opportunity to make a passable pump-action shotgun imititation because it conveniently happens to be a soaker, b...

Shielding is perhaps even worse--because everybody thinks its better. All a shield (especially a soaker) will do is break up the stream in your face so your entire body can be sprayed; and no matter what shield you use, it's very difficult to block for the whole duration of shot, as with using a st...

I completely agree with iSoaker.com, and the aim factor is what I was talking about--plus the fact that their stream is moving. As you [Rook] said, it isn't even "blocking"--you're breaking up their stream, but yours will do the same. You waste your entire PC (and possibly with a complete miss) and...

Perhaps if you knew where the stream was going and you shot it, and neither stream moved, then it would work. Otherwise, though, you've still got a problem; both streams are going to move a bit. There's no possible way to block the stream; even if you're aim was perfect, the other person would have...

The problem is that I've found 1HK Lives (or 3HK) really only works when you have larger teams and larger battlefields. With small teams of 1-2 people, it's weird, since the whole team gets out all at once. Yes, I do understand that can happen with larger teams, but it's not the same. Also, with la...

Hmm...so do you guys know each other? I never even knew the difference between the names, but that's just me. More about my recent battle: it was small, my (CPS 4100) versus a MD5K and a MDSS. It was fairly easy, as they didn't attack together or use tactics at all. The little extra range I had, pl...

Alright, I'll post then... I've never been in any hardcore war, but I've had several 3HK wars with the shirt--and it was elimination. The biggest ones were probably at least five years ago, before everybody decided they had grown out of water wars. Pretty much everybody on my street joined, and tha...

Hmm...this is strange indeed! I rooted through all our old papers and found the Washington Post (the local paper doesn't have as many strips, and definitely not Baby Blues) from Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The first three didn't have anything soaker-related, but the Saturday paper ha...

My homemade includes a trigger system, but I doubt I'll have the patience and/or money for the extra materials and work required for a design such as this. A step-by-step guide would be incredibly long and detailed, and I doubt I would use one. The LRT comes from McMaster-Carr. I'm buying a foot of...

Any more info on this ??? ? I'm also willing to point out typos and the like, so you might as well call that the second-worst job in Soakerdom. School starts on Monday and things will get hectic, but I doubt the stuff's even ready anyway. What is the timeframe for the book? One year? Two? Something...

I've read that...the "series" with that water gun started sometime last week in the Washington Post. I didn't mention it because it's really just a travesty--you'll know if you see the other ones. The dad pretty much just gets knocked down by it three strips in a row, and then Zoe picks up the hose...

I used a soldering iron to melt together the crack in my XP 270's casing. Whether it's enough for the PC casing or not is the question. Duct tape is also a solution... However, epoxy is probably the most permanent and reliable solution--and it's easily available, so you can get it easily. Also, the...

I just added the fourth vote for the CPS 1000, and the others have none...it's a shame you null vote when you want to see the current results, but hopefully this will help. As Ben said, the CPS 1000 is the only soaker that really carries a punch. I suppose the Blazer and perhaps even the Flash Floo...

@ sbell25: Wait, did you do yours on a Flash Flood? In your first post you mentioned spraying the silicone lubricant down the largest nozzle, but now you say to remove the selector and use the main nozzle. Not too big a problem, but this might be a point for confusion. At any rate, this explanation...

What a shame...too bad nobody besides the regular water warriors could come, especially after having advertised and hyped this thing to death. Perhaps the New England War next year, if you have one... Anyway, it sounded like a decent battle. It would have been more intense with more people for a bi...
