Re: Craigslist, Thou Art Awesome

Is it worth driving half an hour to pick up a $2 Flash Flood? Not that I've ever been too crazy about FFs, but something that cheap always intrigues me...

Re: Game: Invasion

I agree, it needs a much bigger playing area if teams consist of any real numbers (more than 2 per team or so). As for you not liking the objective, that is indeed a problem for me, since I want this to be as universal as I can make it. Is there anything specific you don't like about invasions, or j...

Game: Invasion

I was asked by iSoaker to post this in its own thread, as opposed to the jumbled mess that is my original brainstorming thread. So, having found the book I stole the game from, I figured now is the time to give the idea its own discussion thread. It still uses the same "hit for temporary setback, so...

Re: 1HK/Soakfest Ruleset

There are more agrees for hits counting anywhere than for limiting them, so we can build on that. All my opposition was indeed written with soakage in mind, so atvan's latest suggestion makes a lot of sense to me, hits count anywhere, soaks are only measured on the torso. Actually, I just caught Mar...

Re: Best Stock Color Combinations

Nice topic. #1: Yep, Aquapack Devastator, the blue and silver looks so good. #2: Original Max-D 6000, I like the contrast in a black body and yellow addons. #3: Original WW Blazer, dull red and silver, it clicks with me. #4: SS 100 (blue and yellow variety), coupled with the soaker itself, it just l...

Re: More Mr Dude Fantasies, Air Pressure Line Coming up

It is. The whale part is a specific thing, it screeches because there's a large amount of air squeezing through a tiny hole in the cap and through a lot of water. If the check valve in the cap was bigger, it would be more of a sasquatch than a whale.
Yes, I know what a sasquatch sounds like :P

Re: Hybrid CPS + Prechargers?

Not sure about check valves, Home Depot Mississauga and Oakville only have big ABS check valves. I get mine from Rona (though they're swing check valves)

Re: More Mr Dude Fantasies, Air Pressure Line Coming up

Getting off topic, but Orca syndrome comes from air bubbles floating through the water to get to the top of the reservoir. In the Orca's case, it's because the cap is at the bottom, but any source of air bubbles will create a noise (though I would expect an air pump to have a deeper pitch).

Re: More Mr Dude Fantasies, Air Pressure Line Coming up

I modeled the reservoir somewhat after that of the Pirahna, I'm glad it comes across. Just drew up another one, the Roarpest. Pressurized reservoir, features a 1x and riot blast, and is similar in external design to the Roarcreature. I'm thinking there could be a similarly sized seperate PC soaker (...

Re: More Mr Dude Fantasies, Air Pressure Line Coming up

@CA99, I was thinking of the Lightning/Pirahna/Blazer when I drew that, hence a similarly shaped handle. Either one can be comfortable, but typically the open ones are better, yes. I'll keep that in mind for the remainder of my dude-ish lineup. As for intake tubes, I've never been a fan, I always pr...

More Mr Dude Fantasies, Air Pressure Line Coming up

Taking my latest post in the "Want better water blasters? Wish Here!" thread to heart, I have spent the past 2 hours drawing the following: http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j3/aws_waham/ROARMONSTER.png Of course, if it were designed with ergonomics and aesthetics in mind, that'd be cool too :D It f...

Re: Hybrid CPS + Prechargers?

It would be more powerful than CPS alone (not sure about precharger though), but it would be far less durable, as the air pressure would damage the rubber.

Re: Want better water blasters? Wish here!

I was reading through some old "suggestions to improve current soakers" topics, I decided to post some thoughts in here. Some are more detail-specific while others focus more on the actual internals. -As I've noted many times, I'd like to see more semi-tracked pumps. -Trasparent/transluscent reservo...

Craigslist, Thou Art Awesome

A sentence spoken by William Shakespeare himself... Anyway, this whole summer I've been hunting for deals on Craigslist and Kijiji, I have found so many, so this thread is just a heads up. The problem is that I didn't act quickly enough for any of them, so my advice is to check often and snatch them...

Re: How would you fight?

What I understood is that you want our tactics with each soaker? Here's my answer: Round 1: -Vindicator: Has the power/range/capacity advantages over a FF, I'd use that. I'd keep my distance and scare my opponent off with frequent bursts, I'd aim to win this at range. I can't let myself get cornered...

Re: Super soaker cps 1700 strategy

I was talking about performance balance, not physical balance. In terms of physical balance, a Flash Flood shape is the best.
Personal thing, but front/back heavy soakers never bother me, I hardly ever notice the balance aspect in soakers.
