Re: "Guns on the Peninsula," Tactical Scenario
Hooray for community members in the scenario! lol. ^ jja, I'm assuming this is WWn League style CTF (spawn within a radius around the flag, but away from it, spawn away from action), in which case, the scenario shares remarkable similarities to the CTF round we played on the first day of Pandemonium...

Re: Pandemonium 2 [New Haven, CT] August 8th-9th, 2015
Will this be at the same venue? Even if it's at the same venue, it won't be the same venue. The change of seasons makes a huge difference. Edit: Lots of photos/content available on our new Facebook group. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=oa.1481346408843787&type=1 I think it's preferable to ...

Re: Pandemonium 2 [New Haven, CT] August 8th-9th, 2015
Honestly, I think there's a good chance that at least some of us will be late. We'll have to see how it goes. Better to be late and have all the equipment and sleep we need and be able to fight all day and into the night than otherwise. There's quite a few things to be done but I'll do my best to st...

Re: Subterranean Slaughter! - Kingston, NY - Aug. 5th
This thread has taken an excellent turn, I see.
Now, a near-last minute shopping list for me in case I come back to this thread to see it:
- Glow Sticks
- Face Masks
- Military-Grade Flashlight
I probably won't get any of these since there's so much stuff to do; who knows.

Internet is up, we are just about fully operational. Be aware that most outlets in the house are only 2-prong, so plan accordingly. (We might have enough "cheater plugs" that adapt to the ground prong by then, but we don't know yet.)
Also, bring a sleeping bag/padding and pillow.

Re: Please help me (Flash Flood issue)
If you didn't disassemble the Max-D mechanism and rotate the valve around its entire range of motion to check if its moving more easily (as well as for spreading the grease around), then the job wasn't done right or perhaps you didn't use good grease. You do not want to use aerosol based silicone gr...

Re: "Light" versus "Medium" versus "Heavy"
Tiger Shark and Piranha/Lightning are easily in line with the Max-D 6000 in terms of overall capability, but Blazer/Orca is where it gets stretched. Against a bunch of XP 150's, I'd opt for Blazers/Orcas, otherwise no. The cosmetic rule is probably a really good one for mods. You can only fit so muc...

Re: Monster XL, original or shortened?
Well it's pretty damn good that you have a choice.
I would go with the original for the looks and the slightly higher reservoir capacity. Every drop counts!

Re: Most Important Factors - if You Decided
Time to target is probably the main factor on why some Nerfers prefer air blasters over springers. Ranges are too variable and take too much effort to measure, which is why I prefer going by dart specs and muzzle velocity only. For water wars, there's a concept I like to call the "sphere of influenc...

Re: Most Important Factors - if You Decided
Interesting. However, aside from being blown around by wind, there is the concern of wind resistance in general. I still need to hit the chronograph with the soakers, but a hollow stream doesn't seem ideal for high velocity either. I think the topic of range vs. velocity warrants further study. Is a...

Re: Most Important Factors - if You Decided
I've built one out before after spending quite some money in parts. I left off on having to find a suitable quick-disconnect system, and none of the options were particularly satisfactory if I recall correctly. We need more specialized parts and structures, I think. Ideally I'd like some compact, mi...

Re: Most Important Factors - if You Decided
Making a SC pump is easy. Making one practical and ergonomic is not. The latter is the reason I haven't bothered deploying any for the SC blasters; it's just never worth the trouble. It's faster to fill up a reservoir and pump during the game than it is to have to operate a pump while refilling.

Re: Most Important Factors - if You Decided
I'm fine with the 4100 actually; the grips are positioned to at least some sense and are appropriately sized and semi-appropriately shaped. Meanwhile, I could ramble off a few blasters with terrible ergonomics. Tiger Shark, Vindicator, Max-D 3000. Excellent ergonomics are just as easy to name off: F...

Re: Most Important Factors - if You Decided
Range: 25 Soakage: 5 Field Life: 5 RoF: 5 Durability: 25 Maneuverability: 25 I need blasters that work, and blasters that work with me. I find it rather absurd that so many blasters couldn't have properly designed grips and handles while the SS 50 sits comfortably in my hands. The reliability issue ...
