Re: Battle for Little Creek

I'm not sure I'll be bringing any blasters because I don't think I'll have the chance to pick any up from my parents' between now and then. You all will be informed here if this changes. I'll see if I can stop by next weekend.

Re: Battle for Little Creek

I asked Nick if he would be interested in attending a war this summer, and he's not. You might want to try asking yourself. That venue sounds good. Edit: I looked at the train schedule and I can get to Rayleigh, NC at about 9 pm on June 14 without much trouble. Would be fairly expensive and I'd need...

Re: Battle for Little Creek

July 15 works for me if someone is willing to pick me up from Baltimore. I can help pay for gas.

Re: Serious Question

I have been meaning to host a few things this summer, but I've been so focused on work that not much other than work has happened. Right now I'm in Princeton, NJ for the next week, but I'll be back in Maryland through the end of August after this. If someone could host something in NC/TN and I could...

Re: CPS in Backpack (not in gun)

Welcome to the board. It's been done a few times, though not particularly well in my view. See this really simple blaster: http://www.sscentral.org/homemade/leftovers.html There aren't any major issues. The biggest I can think of is that I imagine using multiple latex tubes in parallel as you want t...

Re: Meet Ups in VA and MD

I've been busy the past few weeks wrapping up my semester and preparing for my summer internship, which starts this Thursday. This weekend I'll start looking through parks around Baltimore. Harford and Baltimore counties probably would be best. If anyone has the time to look online to help me out, I...

Re: Have manufacturers given up?

Two words: Legal issues. Manufacturers like Hasbro and Alex Brands are technically wholesalers. Most big retailers require them to sign contracts that forbid direct sales to consumers. You can't have a deal with say, Walmart or Target, and still offer the same products direct. Very interesting. I d...

Have manufacturers given up?

Re: 2017 Water Wars

In that case let's plan for the June war near Baltimore I mentioned in the other thread. That will give us more time to advertise too.

Re: 2017 Water Warriors

The Drench Force is available only at Shopko or Super Valu. Neither of these stores are accessible to me. If anyone here can buy a Drench Force and would be willing to sell a couple to me, let me know.

Re: 2017 Water Warriors

I just sent Alex Brands a message about where to buy the Drench Force. Shopko doesn't seem to sell the blaster online and I don't know of any other place to get it. I'll post back here when I get a response.

Re: Meet Ups in VA and MD

Really glad to hear it. I'll try to do at least 2 wars if you all could make them. Now we need a venue... I just emailed Nick about what neighborhoods I should consider living in this summer. I included a link to this thread so he could give some feedback on the dates. He might have some ideas about...

Re: Meet Ups in VA and MD

I'll be working near Baltimore this summer and would be interested in running at least one war near there. I probably can't do anything on Friday due to work, but Saturday and Sunday should be good. I hope to spend at least a week at my parents' before my job this summer working on a new homemade wa...

Re: HOG

Probably would be best to try a Doodle poll or even a regular poll here at WWN and see which dates work best. I'm an unlikely attendee at this point as I don't have a car and don't have a lot of flexibility in my schedule this summer for a war this long. Plus, I don't like camping. Hope you all enjo...

Re: 2017 Water Wars

My summer job is set now. I'll be in Maryland near Baltimore most of the summer. I'll spend a week at Princeton too. Only weekends will be available for me between June 1 and Aug. 11, but not all of them. I Am tentatively considering something for the weekend of May 27th and 28th. What's the current...

Re: 2017 Water Warriors

The Drench Force valve is similar to something I designed a year ago. You run into this problem with all syringe guns that have a reservoir. When you pull the pump back to fill, if you only have a syringe, this will just pull air. You need to close the nozzle flow path so you can pull water. Putting...

Re: 2017 Water Wars

I declined an internship offer in New Mexico. It was a bad fit with my background. Right now my only pending internship application is for a job in Maryland. Not exactly sure what my chances are, but I'll say 50%.

Re: Next generation rubber CPS homemade water gun planning

On the battery heating issue, I should also point out that battery fire are rare and hard to reliably reproduce, so you might not see one no matter what you do. Another issue to keep in mind is to not have anything pushing hard into the battery. The contract point can help initiate an internal short.
