Re: XXP 275
Sometimes you have to drill out the screws. Ideally you'd only drill out the screw heads so that the old screws can be replaced, but that's not always possible.

Re: XXP 275
Hi, welcome to WWN! The XXP 275 is quite rare, but you might find this old repair guide for a different problem to be useful: https://www.angelfire.com/sports/gng/xxp275restoration.htm If it's a simple air leak, then like all you need to to clean the surface around the hole with something like isopr...

Welcome to the forum. Not sure I've seen cut up car sponges recommended before, but I can see these working really well. Thanks for the suggestion!

Those are probably bots, not people. Bots to get training data for LLMs are really going crazy lately.also this is off topic but have you also noticed the really high activity from guests on this platform. i was randomly online one day just to realize that 1200 people were online at once.

Re: metal pump idea i had
Thanks for reporting back and sorry for the delay myself. I've been busy too. I'm glad this works well. Looks pretty simple and the price is good. I'll have to try this myself when I have the chance!

Re: metal pump idea i had
1/2" PVC pipe is only nominally 1/2". In reality the inner diameter varies a bit but is around 0.602" according to this table . I think if you use a smaller threaded rod then there won't be any problem with the nuts fitting into the pipe. But in that case, I don't think hex nuts would seal. I would ...

Re: metal pump idea i had
It's an interesting idea. I would recommend covering the entire length of the threaded rod with a plastic tube or something else so that you don't have to deal with the threads cutting into the plastic pump cap. The threads offer an advantage on the grip end in that you could screw on a grip, too. Y...

Re: Fluid Stream Simulator V2.0
Thanks, this is interesting. It does looks fairly realistic, with the annoying spray that falls off too soon. Every once in a while it has a droplet that comes out like a rocket and shoots extremely far! I'm not sure what's going on there without debugging it. I'd guess the problem is that it doesn'...

Re: 2024 APH (Final)
Yep, I can watch the videos. The shots look strong. In an actual water war I would usually use smaller nozzles. With a nozzle around 1/8" I would get good shot times and range, though the range would be quite a bit shorter than what you're seeing. When I update the APH construction guide I should in...

Re: 2024 APH (Final)
Looks like you uploaded the videos to Google Drive and then linked to them in a Google Doc. You should be able to link to them directly here, no Google Docs needed. Anyhow, in Google Drive you need to set the permissions for the videos to public for others to view them. (I'm afraid we don't have the...

Re: Action Man CPS 1500?
Online I've seen a lot of knock-off CPS blasters over the years. (I've never seen any in person.) Some are reportedly good with CPS power, or nearly so, though perhaps have worse build quality and durability. The only way to know for sure is to buy it. However, this knock-off is probably bad. The la...

Re: DIY bladder
Hi, welcome to WWN. I don't recall anyone making a bladder from liquid latex before, but I do recall discussion of the idea. I would suggest trying it and reporting the results. As for the material, latex is probably used because it expands a lot and can return to essentially how it was before. Othe...

Re: Fluid Stream Simulator V2.0
I haven't had as much time as I wanted to work on this, but I knocked out something very basic today. Simple forward Euler time stepping (which is inaccurate but fine for a demo). It passes a spot check, but I haven't done any detailed tests. I think we can start with this. See if you can make sense...

Re: Nerf Super Soaker Power Drench: Return of CPS?
Wow, it's really unfortunate how bad the performance is. I flipped through all publicly available US patent applications with Hasbro as the assignee and didn't see anything matching this, so perhaps the patent application isn't public yet. I was interested in what they wrote about why they made this...

Re: Nerf Super Soaker Power Drench: Return of CPS?
Nice finds. I'm curious what the water capacity of these blasters are. Interesting that Hasbro is going for QFD blasters. I'd guess that using QFDs could be a cost-saving measure, as they can replace the pump, some valves, and the reservoir with the QFD. I can't say I'm a fan of QFD-only blasters un...

Sorry for the delay. I've been busier than I had hoped. As I said on Discord, I need to make a Python implementation that you can convert to JS. It'll probably take a day or two for me to get it right, maybe more. I'm on leave from work right now but have some more pressing priorities. I'll get back...

Re: Am I Cooked??
Without opening the blaster, it's hard to tell. Open it up and let us know what you find. The bladder is fortunately one of the few components that can be replaced with off-the-shelf components. And they do tend to wear out, so replacing the bladder's probably a good idea even if that's not the issu...

Welcome to WWN. Yes, I think superglue should work fine if you sand off the old glue. Congrats on the classic find. Let us know if the superglue doesn't work and we can help figure out what to do next.

Re: CPS 3200 for Sale
eBay sold items suggest that recently a CPS 3200 with backpack goes for $171.88 to $225. Gun-only is considerably cheaper at $45 to $48. Please note that these are just recent prices. Prices tend to spike in the summer and decrease until the next season. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=super+so...

Re: 2024 APH
Glad to see people still building! I should really redo the APH page, as the costs need to be updated and I would make some changes to improve safety. I wouldn't recommend cellular core pipe for the pressure chambers. And the 3" to 2" reducers I used originally (same ones you're using here) usually ...
