Re: poll of the week

I've only built 1/2" ID's and never tested out 3/4". But the XP 150 proves it has unique and significant advantages to sling out water more quickly.

Re: 3D Printed SS100 Clone

Finally, someone did it lol. There is massive potential here to modernize the hobby, though getting the last bits will require a lathe and perhaps injection molding. But a ton can already be done with FDM printing and even more with SLA.

Re: Canal Battle

Hopefully we can get a full reunion going after sufficient vaccination and what not. (Will take me a long time due to the way they sorted it.) I have a ton of gear to unload as I never managed to downsize some time ago. Turns out light primaries and sidearms don't sell lol. If we do anything on the ...

Re: Time-to-target

The low velocity of streams makes them difficult to measure with a chrono, but it does provide some reference point. I suspect the important stat is going to be far more nuanced, and that soakers/nozzles can be optimized to minimize time-to-hit at different ranges. The obvious tradeoff of velocity i...

Re: Plastic Welding

Update: I've recently been experimenting with solvent welding as well. Particularly with ABS glue - mix Acetone and junk plastic parts, obviously in a well ventilated environment. Store in a glass jar with a tight lid. Add more plastic to increase its viscosity, and vice versa. It's an old and cost-...

Re: MOAB 2019

Looks like late May seems to be the best for the most people so far. I'd like to know sooner than later since I'm trying to plan a big game in May as well but want to do so as far in advance as possible so we can gather interest.

Re: MOAB 2019

As discussed over text, March 9 & 16 are booked for Rob and I. Not sure about after, but if he's available, we could both run a trip to NC and join Scott along the way, which could potentially save me an awful drive lol. (NC to MI is not something I want to do lol.) Late March and anytime in May wor...

Re: Plastic Welding

These are a bit like soldering irons that just operate at a lower temperature. Obviously make sure the area is very well ventilated. I wouldn't do this anywhere but outside especially without a robust filtration mask. But most of the time, I just go for the good ol putty/liquid epoxy methods. Use ho...

Re: Is Water Warriors Dead?

Not sure what's going on with the branding. WW is gone from the site but they've just updated the aesthetics of the Outlaw, and did a new small air pressure blaster for the Adventure Force line.

Re: Replacement screws for old Super Soakers

Use a flat end M2 screw instead of self-tapping, there's no need for unnecessary sharp hazards lol.

Any of the usual sources - Aliexpress, Banggood, Amazon, eBay, etc. should work fine.

Re: Favorite Firing Valve Design?

I want to try the Hydrocannon again sometime, as its design has some unique advantages.

Maintenance and reliability is a serious issue for all water blasters. Gaskets go bad over time and they can't be replaced easily enough.

I might be able to do August 11th or something weird like that. Really gotta see how my second visit to the east coast this year goes.

Edit: Actually probably not that either. I don't know at this point.

Re: HBWW Downsizing!

Some updates and clarifications: - I can't ship most CPS at the moment due to lack of packaging/boxes. These are best done through wars. - I will get some boxes in early August or so that are able to fit them, but would prefer to ship them via war anyway. - War schedule is being worked on. If by som...

The 21st might actually work for me as well. I'm going to see if I can stack up another big trip to the east coast and get this insanity to work. (I have a lot of nerf wars lined up and haven't done water wars in a long time!)

Edit: Doesn't look like I can, sorry.
